In this candid conversation, which took place toward the end of 2025, Igor Tselyp reflects on the lessons that emerged from a year marked by both challenge and growth. From performing across the UK and Europe to launching new community-driven projects, he opens up about the influence of family, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and his desire to create music that feels honest and meaningful. It is a conversation grounded in sincerity, offering insight into the mindset of an artist focused on connection, balance, and moving forward with intention.

Looking back on 2025, how would you describe the year? What did you enter it with—and what do you carry out of it now?

This year was mixed—challenging, inspiring, and necessary. I entered it with big plans and a strong desire to create more, perform more, and share my music. There were many different situations throughout the year—good and difficult—but each taught me something.

The biggest realization I’m leaving with is that not everything needs to happen fast. There is a time to move and a time to pause. I’ve become calmer, more confident in what I do, and more grateful—for people, for experience, and for the chance to keep doing what I love.

How did the year 2025 change you—as a person and as an artist?

I became more conscious and steady. I learned not to rush and to listen to myself more. As a person, I realized the importance of staying balanced even when everything around you feels unstable.

As an artist, I became more honest. I used to think more about form—how something would look. Now I focus on whether it feels true. When you speak from the heart, people feel it. And the music works differently.

Did you discover anything new about yourself over the last year—strengths or traits you didn’t notice before?

I discovered patience—and the strength to keep going. There were moments when I wanted to pause everything, but I realized that moving forward, even slowly, is still movement.

I also learned to accept situations as they are. Not everything can be controlled, and that’s okay. Sometimes you just do your work, and with time, everything aligns.

Did everything you planned at the beginning of the year come true?

Not everything—but I’m no longer chasing checkmarks on a goal list. Some projects turned out even better than expected, others needed to be paused—like my restaurant. But I don’t see it as a failure.

I continued writing music, performing, meeting inspiring people. I moved forward creatively—and for me, that’s the real achievement.

What moment stands out as the most defining or memorable 2025?

There were many bright moments. One of them was my performance in London when the audience sang Ukrainian folk songs with me. That unity was incredibly powerful.

A defining moment was deciding to temporarily close my restaurant to focus on music. It wasn’t easy, but it gave me new freedom and energy.

How has the war influenced your art and your perception of life?

The war shifted my perspective completely. You start valuing the simplest things—seeing loved ones, having a peaceful day, being able to sing.

Music gained more truth. Every performance now feels like more than just a show—it’s a way to support people, give them strength, remind them that we’re together.

You often say your family is your support system. How do they help you stay grounded?

My family is my foundation. My mother, father, and brother—I wouldn’t be who I am without them. My mom is a true hero, my dad is the embodiment of resilience, and my brother—pure love.

Whenever things feel heavy, I think about them—and immediately remember why I must keep going.

Were there any new projects you started in 2025 and want to continue?

Yes—we launched the “Tantsi London” project, and I’m very glad it resonated with people. Ukrainians here truly need a place to meet and feel connected.

For me, it’s more than a party. It’s about community and belonging. Now we’re thinking about expanding it, adding new formats, inviting more artists.

You performed a lot across the UK and Europe over the last year. Which event or charity concert was the most memorable?

The concert in Rome stands out the most. So many people came that we could barely fit everyone inside—it was a real sell-out, even beyond expectations.

We sang, laughed, cried together. And most importantly, we raised a significant amount of funds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. That evening will stay with me for a long time.

And looking ahead to 2026, what dreams or goals were you hoping to carry forward into the year ahead?

I want to further develop “Tantsi London,” make it bigger and even more meaningful for Ukrainians in London.

I also want to finish several new songs and fully launch the project dedicated to reviving Ukrainian folk music—something I’ve been dreaming about for years.

I want next year to be a year of growth—creatively, emotionally, spiritually.

What new songs or creative collaborations can your listeners expect soon?

I’m working on a project that gives a new life to Ukrainian songs we all grew up with. I want to combine modern sound with the soul of our roots.

There are also discussions with several artists about future collaborations. I hope we’ll create something special.

What are your key creative priorities and ambitions for the upcoming year?

Right now, I want to focus on developing the “Tantsi London” project. Every event proves how needed it is. My goal is to expand it: new ideas, more artists, fresh formats—a real place of unity for Ukrainians in London.

At the same time, I’m working on new songs and preparing to launch my long-awaited project dedicated to reviving Ukrainian folk music.

I want the next year to be a year of personal and creative growth. The most important thing is not to stop—and to do everything sincerely and from the heart.
