This week, Alexandra Stan returns with her latest single “Fire”, arriving alongside striking cover artwork as she continues to revive the popcorn sound that first propelled her to global success. The release follows a busy period for the Romanian artist, who recently announced a popcorn-focused writers’ retreat with Edward Maya, while also sharing the collaborative track “forEVA” with her partner Stefan Oprea. Released on March 20, “forEVA” doubled as a pregnancy announcement, marking a significant personal milestone for the couple. “Fire” now builds on that momentum, following both “forEVA” and her earlier collaboration with One Love Nation on “Fly (Sarà Perché Ti Amo)”.
At Good Star Vibes, we would also like to extend our warmest congratulations to Alexandra Stan and Stefan Oprea on their wonderful news. With “forEVA” marking such a meaningful personal milestone, it adds an extra layer of emotion to this current chapter in Alexandra Stan’s journey, and we wish them both all the very best as they celebrate this exciting new beginning together.

Alexandra Stan Ignites Summer with “Fire” — A Dance-Pop Track Built for the Club Scene
Written by Alexandra Stan, Corneliu Constantin Donici (known professionally as Dony)—a well-established name within Romania’s pop and dance music scene—and Ovidiu Bistriceanu, and produced by Dony, “Fire” arrives as a confident pop release that leans into Stan’s signature vocal style. The track blends dance-pop with the nostalgic essence of the Romanian “popcorn” sound that defined much of her early success, while incorporating a more contemporary, mainstream edge.
A key highlight comes in the post-chorus drop, where subtle Eastern European influences emerge, giving the track a distinct sonic identity. While the post-chorus carries a distinct Eastern European flair, its melodic structure and rhythmic delivery closely echo the style heard in Love by INNA, reinforcing the track’s roots within the Romanian popcorn sound. Despite this, “Fire” maintains its own direction, supported by punchy drum production that enhances its broader global appeal.
Expressive and emotionally driven, Alexandra Stan delivers a confident vocal performance on “Fire”, reinforcing her established presence within Romania’s pop and dance music landscape. From the opening moments, she maintains a strong sense of control, carrying the track with a delivery that is both polished and instantly engaging. Lyrically, the song centres on intense attraction, using the metaphor of “fire” to convey urgency and desire, while urging its subject not to let the moment pass. With summer approaching and the dance music season already in motion—following events such as Miami Music Week and the return of Ibiza’s club circuit—“Fire” positions itself as a track that could find traction within DJ sets, particularly given its remix potential.

Alexandra Stan and Edward Maya Partner with NOSTALGIA and Soundfeed on Popcorn Music Camp
Beyond the release of “Fire”, Alexandra Stan has also been actively involved in a wider movement aimed at reigniting the popcorn genre. Between April 17 and 19, she joined forces with Edward Maya, alongside NOSTALGIA Music Label and Soundfeed, to take part in the Popcorn Music Camp initiative—a collaborative songwriting and production project designed to reintroduce the sound to a global audience.
Held at Edward Maya’s Studio House in Romania, the three-day camp brought together around 30 artists working across multiple studio spaces, creating an environment focused on high-output collaboration. The aim was to blend the nostalgic elements that defined the original popcorn wave of the 2010s with more contemporary production styles, ultimately shaping tracks that could resonate on an international scale.

The initiative also reflects a broader industry push to re-establish popcorn music within today’s landscape, particularly following a period where the genre has seen fewer mainstream releases. With artists and producers working intensively across the camp, the project signals a clear intention to not only revive the sound but evolve it, potentially paving the way for a new wave of globally recognised hits.
“We want to build tracks that carry forward the emotion the audience experiences at our events, and most importantly, through this camp, we aim to discover the sound that will become the official NOSTALGIA 2026 anthem. This edition of Popcorn Music Camp is dedicated to a genre that put Romania on the global music map, and for which we are preparing a true revival,” says Ionuț Țone, Head of Partnerships at NOSTALGIA.
“Popcorn was the most internationally impactful musical movement in Romania’s history. We are honored to work alongside NOSTALGIA Music Label, Edward Maya, and Alexandra Stan in this relaunch effort. We believe the entire Romanian music industry has a huge opportunity ahead,” says the Soundfeed team.
“This is a necessary project for the music scene. NOSTALGIA has a strong community, and moving into production is a natural step. Popcorn Music Camp creates the ideal context for songs that can reach a global audience. We are honored to be part of this initiative and thank the NOSTALGIA team for bringing together so many talents,” say Edward Maya & Alexandra Stan.
With “Fire” already leaning into that signature sound, Alexandra Stan’s involvement in the camp further reinforces her role in shaping what could be the genre’s next chapter, while continuing to build on a creatively active period in her career.
Alexandra Stan Releases “forEVA” with Stefan Oprea Amid Pregnancy Announcement and Emotional New Chapter
Prior to the release of “Fire”, Alexandra Stan announced her pregnancy alongside the release of her collaborative single “forEVA” with her partner Stefan Oprea, marking a deeply personal milestone within her current creative era. Oprea, who works professionally as both a model and a drummer, has remained closely involved in Alexandra Stan’s music career in recent years, contributing across both live touring and studio recording projects, while continuing to appear as a consistent and supportive presence throughout this chapter of her life and career.
Over the past decade, Alexandra Stan’s romantic life has frequently been the subject of discussion within Romanian media, making this announcement a particularly notable and publicly visible moment in her personal journey. Against that backdrop, “forEVA” arrives as a more intimate collaboration, reflecting the pair’s shared creative connection as well as their relationship off-stage.
The couple have remained openly supportive of one another throughout this period, with their dynamic often resonating with fans who follow both their personal and professional work. As two musicians navigating this new stage together—one of them a drummer by trade—it’s easy to imagine a creatively charged, and at times no doubt lively and noisy, household that reflects the energy of their respective artistic worlds.
Written by Alexandra Stan, Sebastian Tudor, and Iuliana Pușchilă, and produced by Constantin Bodea, “forEVA” stands as an addictive pop release that aligns with Stan’s recent musical direction while carrying a distinctly heavier emotional weight. That depth recalls “Thanks For Leaving”, a track released in the aftermath of a deeply traumatic period in her life, when she was physically assaulted by her former manager—an experience that led to a hiatus and marked a turning point in both her career and personal journey.
In this context, “forEVA” feels less like a standalone release and more like a continuation of Alexandra Stan’s long-standing pattern of using music to process and document pivotal moments in her life. However, where “Thanks For Leaving” emerged from a place of trauma and recovery, “forEVA” arrives from an entirely different emotional space—one defined by stability, love, and new beginnings. That contrast not only highlights the distance she has travelled, both personally and professionally, but also reinforces the role her music continues to play in reflecting the realities of her life, offering listeners a more intimate and evolving connection to her story.
The opening hook brings together the vocals of Alexandra Stan and Stefan Oprea, creating a warm, family-oriented tone while remaining instantly catchy. As the track progresses, Stan takes the lead vocally, while Oprea underpins the production with a distinctive, spotlighted drum rhythm, allowing both artists to contribute to a cohesive and unified sound.
Alexandra Stan delivers a notably tender vocal performance, navigating higher-range notes with control and clarity. Subtle piano melodies weave through the arrangement, providing a gentle foundation, while Stefan Oprea’s drumming moves fluidly around the vocal, helping to shape a balanced and expressive pop composition. The Romanian lyrics further reinforce the emotional core of the track, with Stan expressing deep love and anticipation for an unborn child, describing the baby as a long-awaited miracle that has brought renewed meaning to her life.
Alongside the release of the single, Alexandra Stan and Stefan Oprea also unveiled a music video directed and edited by Mihai Tiu. Set against a beach backdrop, the visual follows the couple as they spend time together, with several moments focusing on Stan’s baby bump as she performs the track.
The video places a clear emphasis on their relationship, capturing a sense of closeness and shared anticipation. One particularly tender scene sees Stefan Oprea arranging white shells into a heart shape across Alexandra Stan’s bump, reinforcing the theme of new life at the centre of the narrative. Their coordinated white outfits further contribute to the visual tone, with the colour white often symbolising purity, innocence, and new beginnings, aligning closely with the emotional core of the song. In one intimate sequence, the pair appear in near-identical outfits, with subtle styling differences—such as Stan’s rolled-up jumper and undone jeans—drawing attention to her pregnancy while maintaining the video’s understated aesthetic.
Overall, the visual complements the track’s message, offering a gentle and intimate portrayal of this moment in the lives of Alexandra Stan and Stefan Oprea. Through its beachside setting, symbolic imagery, and understated styling, the video mirrors the emotional tone of “forEVA”, reinforcing its focus on love, anticipation, and new beginnings while maintaining a sense of simplicity and sincerity throughout.
Following the release of the music video, Alexandra Stan included a message in the video description that offers further context to the release, originally written in Romanian:
I always knew that being a mother was what I was missing and that the moment I experienced this feeling, I would feel truly complete. But what I didn’t imagine was how deep, how complex and how overwhelmingly beautiful this feeling can be, how much it can fill your heart and the entire Universe. 🥹

I feel incredibly blessed to be able to experience this with Ștefan and, above all, that we can express through music everything we feel and share this emotion with you. 🥰
Spring begins with Eva! And for us Eva is life, she is our sincere, deep and unexpected love and the beginning of the most beautiful story: our story of three. We hope it reaches you as it reached us and becomes a manifesto of love and beginnings.
I love you forever… Eva! 🤍
“forEVA”, by Alexandra Stan and Stefan Oprea, is available to download and stream, right now, across all platforms, via Alexandra Stan Records and Roton Music, closing a release that captures one of the most personal and emotionally significant moments in Alexandra Stan’s recent career.
Taken together, “Fire”, “forEVA”, and Alexandra Stan’s involvement in the Popcorn Music Camp initiative highlight a particularly dynamic moment in her career. As she continues to revisit the signature sound that first defined her international breakthrough while also exploring more personal and emotionally driven material, Alexandra Stan remains firmly positioned at the centre of both nostalgia and reinvention within Romania’s evolving pop landscape.
