Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Oksana Voyage revealed that it was influenced by a real-life situation involving close friends. What initially appeared to be a stable and happy marriage ultimately shifted when the husband confessed that he had fallen in love with another man. Despite efforts to hold the relationship together, the truth proved too difficult to overcome, leaving a lasting emotional impact.
“When you watch stories like this in movies, they seem fictional. But life can be just as surprising. That’s why every word of this song felt true to that story. It’s about people, about pain, and about feelings that sometimes cannot be controlled,” says Oksana Voyage.
The artist also shared that her connection to “August Day” was immediate, even before she knew the origins of the track. For Oksana Voyage, the song’s emotional core resonated instantly, aligning with the story she had witnessed.
“I didn’t even know who had written the song. I simply heard it, and in that very moment I remembered the story of my friends. I told myself, ‘This is my song. I have to sing it.’ It’s incredibly tender, heartbreaking, and deeply honest,” the artist recalls.
At its core, “August Day” reflects on the final moments of a relationship—the last glance, the final touch, and the memories that continue to linger long after everything has changed. The song’s narrative focuses on the emotional imprint left behind, rather than the relationship itself, allowing listeners to connect with its themes on a personal level.

Oksana Voyage is a Ukrainian singer-songwriter known for her expressive vocal style and emotionally driven music. Born in Kremenchuk, she developed her artistic foundation through music and vocal training from an early age, later establishing herself within Ukraine’s music scene.
