NYC Web Fest is preparing for its biggest edition in years as Good Star Vibes can exclusively reveal the 67 projects named as Official Selections for the 2026 festival. Bringing together web series, pilots, short films, podcasts, and micro-dramas and verticals, this year’s programme is the festival’s largest since 2019.
Returning to The Producers Club in Manhattan from November 13 to 15, 2026, the 13th annual NYC Web Fest will once again put independent digital storytelling at the forefront, with projects arriving from across the United States and Canada alongside international selections from Australia, Iran, France, Israel, Brazil, Belgium, and beyond.

NYC Web Fest Sees Renewed Growth for Its 13th Edition
The increase to 67 Official Selections marks a significant year for NYC Web Fest, particularly as the festival continues to evolve alongside the changing ways creators develop and distribute their work.
While podcasts and increasingly prominent vertical productions have widened the possibilities available to independent storytellers, traditional episodic projects remain an important part of the festival. NYC Web Fest 2026 has received its highest number of overall submissions since before the pandemic, while web series entries have reached their strongest level in several years.

Festival founder Lauren Atkins reflected on that growth and the continued appetite for episodic storytelling, stating, “Not only is this the most overall submissions we’ve received since before the pandemic, this is the most web series submissions we’ve received in years. Just when you think the industry has completely pivoted to verticals and podcasts, filmmakers continue to create fantastic episodic content.”
Lauren Atkins continued, “I’m deeply grateful to our jury and our team for helping us grow this festival while staying true to our mission: to uplift independent creators and give their stories the platform they deserve.”
The growing programme follows another year in which projects recognised by NYC Web Fest have continued their journeys beyond the festival. The Class of 2000, which won Best Web Series at the 2025 edition, has subsequently received an International Emmy nomination.

Last year’s festival also hosted the festival premiere of Audible series Eavesdropper, created by Elliot Wolf and produced by Wolf Entertainment, with a cast including Matt Dillon, Matthew Lillard, and Susan Kelechi Watson.

NYC Web Fest’s willingness to adapt its categories has similarly been shaped by projects appearing at previous editions. Britt Migs starred in viral TikTok series Drunk Bathroom Girl, which won Best Original Concept in 2024 and helped inspire the festival to introduce a dedicated space for micro-dramas and vertical storytelling.

Alumni Make Up Most of the NYC Web Fest 2026 Jury
Many of the people responsible for judging this year’s projects already have their own history with NYC Web Fest, with six of the seven jury members having previously received nominations or awards at the festival.
As Good Star Vibes previously revealed, the 2026 panel includes Black Panther actor Bambadjan Bamba; actor and singer Sean Anthony Baker; comedian Britt Migs; actor, director, and Shakespeare Republic creator Sally McLean; comedy producer and Building Friendships creator Jon Sosis; and actor and director Lara Toselli.
Joining the six NYC Web Fest alumni is Aux Mode President Jessie Behan, completing the seven-person jury responsible for evaluating this year’s programme.
The alumni-heavy panel creates another connection between NYC Web Fest’s past and present, bringing former participants back into the festival to assess a new generation of projects. Their collective backgrounds cover acting, directing, producing, comedy, digital entertainment, and online media, reflecting the variety of formats represented among the 2026 Official Selections.
New and Returning Partners Support This Year’s Creators
Alongside expanding its Official Selections, NYC Web Fest has secured a new partnership with Backstage for 2026, providing every creator behind an Official Selection with access to the company’s casting services.
Aux Mode is also continuing its relationship with the festival. One award winner will receive a YouTube strategy session and channel optimisation consultation from the digital media services company, extending the opportunities available beyond the projects’ screenings and awards consideration.
Paramount Hotel Times Square will meanwhile return as NYC Web Fest’s official accommodation partner, with a group rate set to be made available for festival attendees travelling to New York for the three-day event.
These partnerships add a practical element to the recognition that comes with becoming an Official Selection, offering participating creators resources that could help with casting, digital strategy, and attending the festival itself.
NYC Web Fest Continues to Champion Digital Storytelling
Lauren Atkins founded NYC Web Fest in 2014 after identifying the need for a New York-based festival dedicated to the rapidly developing world of digital series. Born in Cape Town and raised in Toronto, Lauren Atkins has since overseen its development into an international event bringing together creators working across an expanding collection of formats.
That ambition continues to shape NYC Web Fest more than a decade after its launch. Lauren Atkins explained, “Our goal is to make this festival the premier home for digital producers on an international level. An organic space where creators can showcase their talent, network with other artists, and learn from industry insiders.”
Previous NYC Web Fest guests and jury members have included Kate Walsh, Victor Williams, Julie Halston, April Reign, Evan Shapiro, Frank Fernandez, Arda Ocal, Gina Torres, Francia Raisa, and Danielle Savre, while the festival has continued to provide independent creators with opportunities to showcase their projects, connect with fellow creatives, and meet people working across the entertainment industry.
The 2026 edition now takes that mission into its 13th year with its biggest selection of projects since 2019. At a time when digital entertainment continues to shift between established and emerging formats, this year’s 67 Official Selections demonstrate that web series, podcasts, short-form vertical productions, pilots, and independent films are all finding their place within an increasingly broad storytelling landscape.
NYC Web Fest 2026 will take place from November 13 to 15, 2026, with screenings and panels held in the Grand Theater at The Producers Club, 358 West 44th Street, New York City. The full schedule is currently being finalised, with tickets and festival passes set to become available in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on NYC Web Fest’s official website for the latest updates and to find out when tickets go live.
