Hosted by Trevor Noah for the fourth time, the ceremony featured remarkable performances, emotional tributes, and, of course, the announcement of winners across various categories.

Night’s Big Winners

The night was filled with triumphs for several artists, with Taylor Swift making history by clinching Album of the Year for the fourth time with her album “Midnights”. Other notable winners included Phoebe Bridgers—who took home four awards, three as part of the trio Boygenius—as well as Miley Cyrus, SZA, and Billie Eilish, each of whom also secured major wins.

Tracy Chapman & Luke Combs

In a surprising collaboration, Chapman with her guitar was joined by Combs as they captivated the audience with a soulful rendition of Chapman’s classic, “Fast Car”.

Billie Eilish & FINNEAS

The sibling duo enchanted the audience with a haunting performance of “What Was I Made For?” from the critically acclaimed Barbie: The Album.

Miley Cyrus

Delivering a powerful and emotional performance, Cyrus sang “Flowers”, leaving a lasting impression with her dynamic vocals and stage presence, switching the tempo up for the ending chorus and going all out to leave everything on that stage. What a night for the 31-year-old who not only won her first-ever GRAMMY Award but also won her second on the same night.

Olivia Rodrigo

The breakout star performed “Vampire” with an electrifying energy that resonated with fans and solidified her presence in the music industry.

U2

The iconic rock band transported the audience with “Atomic City”, performed from the Sphere in Paradise, Nevada, showcasing their enduring influence.

Joni Mitchell

Making her debut GRAMMYs performance at 80 years old, Mitchell left the audience in tears with “Both Sides, Now”, joined by a star-studded ensemble including Brandi Carlile, SistaStrings, Blake Mills, Lucius, Allison Russell, and Jacob Collier.

Travis Scott

The In Memoriam segment, led by Stevie Wonder, was a poignant tribute to the musical luminaries who left an indelible mark on the industry. Each performer contributed to the emotional resonance of the night celebrating the incredible musicians and artists that left this world, in the last year.

Stevie Wonder

Leading the In Memoriam segment, Wonder paid a heartfelt tribute to departed musicians with covers of Tony Bennett’s “For Once In My Life” and “The Best Is Yet To Come”.

Annie Lennox

Lennox delivered a soul-stirring rendition of Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares to U”, joined by Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman of Prince & The Revolution. At the end of her performance, she called for a ceasefire concerning the Israel-Hamas war.

Jon Batiste

The multi-talented artist—joined by Ann Nesby, Cory Henry, and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis—paid homage with a heartfelt tribute, singing “Ain’t No Sunshine”, “Stand by Me”, and “Optimistic” in memory of Clarence Avant.

Oprah Winfrey

Winfrey took to the stage to say some heartfelt words about the legendary Tina Turner. “She is our forever goddess of rock and roll, who inspired millions. A moving symbol of grace and grit, soul and power,” Winfrey said. She went on to say, “[Turner is] a special kind of role model. She used to say to me, ‘Oprah, you should always dress up for dinner even if no one’s there, just so you feel beautiful to you, for yourself.'”

Fantasia

Honouring Tina Turner, Fantasia Barrino’s powerful cover of “Proud Mary”, alongside Adam Blackstone, was a fitting tribute to the rock and roll goddess.
