Written by Ty Myers himself, whilst it was produced by Brandon Hood, “Message to You” continues to showcase Ty Myers’ ability to blend traditional country storytelling with broader musical influences, including blues, soul, and rock. Despite being just 18 years old, the singer-songwriter, who hails from Austin, Texas, delivers his music with a level of emotional weight and musical confidence that has quickly set him apart within the modern country landscape.

He uses his rich country vocals to strong effect, effortlessly drawing the listener in from the outset, supported by engaging and gentle guitar chords. As the chorus arrives, his voice lifts with growing emotional power, underscoring that the song is rooted in genuine feeling rather than performance. Drums enter during the second verse, broadening the arrangement and adding further weight as he delivers soft, expressive country-leaning runs that sit naturally within the track. Lyrically, Ty Myers addresses a loved one while away, articulating feelings of insecurity and loneliness while pledging to spend his life proving he can be the person they need him to be.

That emotional honesty is rooted in Ty Myers’ upbringing. Raised on a cattle ranch that has remained in his family for more than six generations, he often draws on personal experience and lived authenticity in his songwriting. That grounded perspective has become a defining element of his work, resonating with listeners as his profile continues to rise both in the United States and internationally.

Accompanying the official single release is a dynamic music video directed by John Park, with Dylan Rucker serving as Director of Photography and Wales Toney of Whale Tale Music as producer. Reminiscent of Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn”, the video follows Ty Myers as he performs the song while movers gradually strip the furniture from his home. He is initially shown holding a notebook, jotting down lyrics as the scene unfolds. He takes off his jacket and sits on the couch, clearly thinking about his loved one.

In the closing moments, Ty Myers picks up a guitar positioned in the corner, before the camera pulls back to reveal the setting as a film set. As the lights fade, he walks off set, reinforcing the themes of distance and disconnection reflected in the song. The visual narrative aligns closely with the lyric “I don’t know what town I’m in” from the second verse, suggesting the track was shaped by life on the road, while underlining his desire to prove he can be the person his loved one needs him to be. Throughout the video, that emotional weight is clearly conveyed through his on-screen performance.

“Message to You” follows a series of recent releases that have offered early insight into “Heavy On The Soul”, including “Leaving Carolina”, “Through a Screen”, “Come On Over, Baby”, and “Two Trains”, which features Marcus King. Collectively, the tracks point toward a more expansive and emotionally driven chapter for Ty Myers as he builds on the foundation laid by his debut album, “The Select”.

Industry recognition has come quickly for the young artist. Rolling Stone has previously described Ty Myers as “the next face of country music”, while Billboard named him Country Rookie of the Month and included him in its high-profile 21 Under 21 list. He has also been spotlighted by GRAMMY.com, Apple Music, Spotify, and Pandora as an artist to watch.

Earlier this week, Ty Myers made his late-night television debut with an appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he delivered a stripped-back performance of “Thought It Was Love”, a track from “The Select”. The song has since achieved RIAA Platinum certification and charted on the Billboard Hot 100, further cementing his growing mainstream reach.

Live performances remain a central part of Ty Myers’ momentum. He is set to make his UK debut in March at C2C: Country to Country, where he will perform on the main stages in London, Belfast, and Glasgow. Later this year, he will return to the UK and Ireland as a support act on Luke Combs’ “My Kinda Saturday Night Tour”, playing major venues including Slane Castle, Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium, and Wembley Stadium.
