Made up of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, SOFI TUKKER have spent years creating music that blends electronic production, pop melodies, Brazilian influences, and international club culture. Driven by playful lyricism, strong vocals, and infectious production, the track leans into the carefree energy that defines SOFI TUKKER’s music, while still carrying a mischievous edge. Talking about the release, the duo stated, “We’ve been sneaking ‘Barthelona’ in our sets for months, and it has consistently created peak moments in all kinds of settings. The energy of this track can really take over a dance floor or someone’s mood on a shitty day, take you…maybe even as far as BarTHelona. Really love this one and are excited for the secret to be coming out.”
They continued by saying, “We wrote it in a makeshift studio in a sprinter van on the way from Vegas to Palm Springs, but by virtue of the lyrics it has taken us to Barcelona to shoot the music video and bring it to life. It’s a bit of a cheeky track about going out for a good time, when you don’t know how far it’ll take you… maybe even as far as BarTHelona.”
Before its official release, “Barthelona” had already begun making an impact, with SOFI TUKKER secretly introducing the track into their DJ sets and festival performances over recent months. The song quickly became a fan-favourite moment, with audiences recognising its irresistible beat and catchy hook before it was even available to stream.

The music video, directed by Cayetano González, takes that energy from the song and places it against the backdrop of Barcelona’s iconic locations. Starring alongside the duo in the music video are Eva Rios Galpa, Yara Kharytonova, Sofia Sypalova, Nini Gogsadze, William Wohiren, Felix Gutierrez, Inge Ladd, and Marie Anokhina.
