Directed by Emerson Ladouceur of Ulysses Media, the video stars Brett Altman himself opposite dancer and actress Chloe Terlingen. It opens with a picturesque ferry boat trip—possibly on the Hudson River, which forms the divide between New Jersey and Manhattan, the gateway to Long Island—tying directly into the song’s playful cross-regional romance. Altman notices Terlingen and sits down next to her. There’s instant chemistry, and he walks with her to meet her friends outside The Village Tavern in Manhattan, only to be met with subtle disapproval. Before anything can develop, her friends pull her away, leaving Altman behind, and setting the stage for an unexpected reunion later that night.
But things don’t go entirely as planned.
As the scene shifts to nighttime, Altman pulls up in a red 1998 Jeep Wrangler, only to be playfully brushed off as Terlingen joins her crew—Charlie Sue Birznieks, Roberta Lavalle, and Julia DiPretoro—for a lively, choreographed moment. The group then heads to a neon-lit nightclub called The Waiting Room in Hoboken, New Jersey, where the night picks up pace with flowing drinks, loose clubbing, and carefree fun on the dancefloor.
In one of the most endearing moments of the video, a guitar solo kicks in and Altman is handed a guitar on the dance floor. He strums and serenades Terlingen in a final attempt to win her over, but just as things seem to be going his way, she vanishes. Gone without a trace. Even her friends disappear, leaving Altman alone and bewildered, perfectly embodying the all-too-relatable sting of being ghosted.
Intercut throughout are joyful scenes of Altman standing tall in the moving Jeep, hair windswept, capturing that carefree thrill of a summer fling. Terlingen and her dancers are also seen in the back of the Jeep, at times, dancing and laughing as they cruise through the night, adding to the video’s light-hearted, feel-good vibe.
The music video leans into the same playful energy that made the single stand out, while also adding visual storytelling that deepens its emotional undercurrent. There’s humour, heat, and heartbreak, all set against a backdrop of choreography and neon nightlife. The script was co-written by Ladouceur, Matt Meiselman, and Brett Altman himself, with choreography by the dancers themselves. Meiselman also served as production assistant, rounding out a collaborative creative team.
“Pretty Long Island Girls” is the first single from Brett Altman’s upcoming album “This Is Me”, expected to drop in spring 2026. With a promise to release a new single every six weeks over the next year, this latest video drop signals just how much fun, and emotional punch, Altman plans to pack into this new era.
Whether you’re here for the vibes, the visuals, or the very specific New Jersey vs. Long Island rivalry, Brett Altman is proving he knows how to tell a story—one catchy chorus and charming plot twist at a time.
