Liviu Teodorescu and Antonia have released their new single, “A la long”. A Romanian R&B powerhouse collaboration, the track arrives alongside an accompanying music video that keeps the focus firmly on the track. Sultry and seductive, the visual complements the track’s ’00s-inspired R&B sound, which feels both reinvented and modernised. The release follows Liviu Teodorescu’s recent single “Un Minut” and Antonia’s collaboration with Killa Fonic on “S.O.S.”.

Written by Liviu Teodorescu, Antonia Iacobescu, Loredana Cavasdan, Alexandru Capitanu Hermenotis, and Alex Cotoi, and produced by Alex Cotoi alongside Hermenotis, “A la long” is a Romanian-language R&B track driven by emotive undertones and strong vocal performances. Liviu Teodorescu and Antonia blend seamlessly on the track, drawing on the nostalgic ’00s R&B sound that once crossed into pop music, while grounding it firmly in a contemporary setting. This balance allows the song to resonate through both familiarity and modern relevance.

Lyrically, the track leans into themes of longing and lifelong love, balancing emotional vulnerability with a desire for lasting commitment. Liviu Teodorescu delivers the opening verse with heartfelt emotion, weaving in skilful vocal runs that add rhythmic texture to the lyrics. Antonia complements this with her melodic delivery, with the pair harmonising throughout the chorus as their voices blend naturally within the track’s nostalgic R&B influence. ANTONIA later takes the spotlight during the bridge, incorporating vocal runs before briefly slipping into falsetto, adding a dynamic shift ahead of the song’s closing chorus.

The accompanying music video, directed by David Mogan with production handled by Loops Production, is set inside a mechanic’s garage, where Liviu Teodorescu is shown working on cars while performing the track. The video opens with a close-up of a calendar featuring Antonia as the November model, immediately establishing her presence before she appears on screen. As the first chorus begins, Antonia arrives at the garage with her car in need of servicing, setting up a playful narrative moment that suggests the visit may involve more than routine repairs.

Performance-driven scenes are interwoven throughout, featuring both solo shots and choreography sequences that highlight their on-screen chemistry, which quickly becomes one of the video’s driving forces. During the bridge, Antonia delivers a striking visual moment through dramatic hairography, enhanced by the use of an off-camera wind machine, adding a gust of drama to the video’s already seductive atmosphere. The slight narrative continues with Liviu Teodorescu contacting ANTONIA via an old flip phone to inform her that her car is ready, while she is shown answering the call using an Honor Magic V5—a subtle nod to the brand partnership Antonia has previously promoted in Romania.

The chemistry and charisma Liviu Teodorescu brings to the “A la long” video are a continuation of the energy he has cultivated throughout his career. From Bucharest, he first gained national attention on Season 1 of Vocea României (The Voice of Romania), reaching the semi-finals, and spent a year with Lala Band before launching a successful solo career marked by hit singles and collaborations with artists like Andra, Adda, and Sore.

Since then, he has also made a name for himself on Romanian television, winning the ninth series of Te cunosc de undeva! (Romania’s version of Your Face Sounds Familiar, which translates to Do I Know You!) and coming second on Uite cine dansează! (Romania’s version of Dancing With The Stars / Strictly Come Dancing, which translates to Look Who’s Dancing!). Alongside these achievements, he balances his personal life—marrying long-time partner Iulia and welcoming a daughter in 2023—and continues to explore international collaborations, releasing contemporary pop and R&B tracks that showcase his evolving sound and artistry.

As for Antonia, she has consistently showcased the charisma and versatility that have made her one of Romania’s most prominent female artists. She first broke through internationally in 2009 with Tom Boxer on “Morena”, a club anthem that hit charts across Eastern Europe. Over the years, she has built a catalogue of genre-blending hits, including the soulful “Marabou”, the edgy “Marionette”, the Latin-infused “Mátame” featuring Erik Frank, the infectious “Clap Clap” with Gran Error and Elvana Gjata, the anthemic “Hurricane” featuring Puya, and the sleek “Wild Horses” with Jay Sean—which was later released years later as a remix EP with Lotus and Pitbull.

Her recent releases underline her continued relevance in the Romanian pop scene. The collaboration with Babasha, “De ce te uiți așa?”, has already amassed over 3 million streams across Spotify and over 15 million views on YouTube, while her ongoing music collaborations with Jenn Morel and Killa Fonic showcase her ability to merge pop, Latin, and club influences into chart-ready tracks. Alongside her music, Antonia remains a visible presence in media and brand partnerships, solidifying her international appeal.
