Written by Alex Cotoi, Antonia, and Florian Rus, whilst it has been produced by Cotoi, “S.O.S.” has a distinctly R&B flavour that this top Romanian female singer has been navigating as her signature for some time. It has an addictive, subtle beat that flows progressively below her gorgeous vocals, with licks of guitar chords acoustically strumming during the chorus. The groovy and catchy lyrics match her voice brilliantly, as she expresses fear of love while simultaneously seeking connection. Painting a picture of back-and-forth momentum in a relationship, Antonia stuns with emotional vocal integrity and addictive flow.

Quoted by Touch Magazine, Antonia said, “Love: so often, a rollercoaster of feelings and emotions, with ups and downs. ‘S.O.S.’ is the story of a girl who has suffered in the past from love but has now met someone she feels she’s falling for. She’s afraid of love and runs away because she doesn’t want to suffer again. But she enjoys the game between them. She wants to protect herself. Yet she doesn’t want him to leave. She’s not toxic, she’s scared. I thank Alex Cotoi and Florian Rus for helping me turn my idea into reality.”
Directed by Moza, with Quba as Director of Photography and production by Loops Production, the “S.O.S.” music video matches Antonia’s sultry new single with sleek, performance-driven visuals. She’s joined by dancers Cesima Nechifor and Naomi Hedman, who help bring the choreography to life with a mix of relaxed sensuality and sharp precision. The video thrives on its performance energy, showcasing Antonia’s poise and effortless connection to the track while highlighting the chemistry between the three performers.

The visuals alternate between stylish, intimate settings that mirror the song’s themes. One standout scene places Antonia outside a Porsche in a dimly lit car park as her dancers vibe from inside the vehicle, creating a cool, cinematic edge. Another sequence unfolds in a living room space, where the trio execute choreography in loungewear, giving the performance an inviting, bedroom-inspired vibe. Throughout, playful selfie-style clips of Antonia and her dancers are interspersed, offering a glimpse of the Romanian singer’s fun, carefree personality. Twerking and teasing choreography anchor the video’s main hook, adding a flirtatious energy that echoes the song’s push-and-pull tension between vulnerability and seduction.
Easily one of Romania’s most prominent female artists, Antonia Iacobescu first broke through internationally in 2009 with Tom Boxer on “Morena”, a club anthem that hit charts across Eastern Europe. Since then, she has built a catalogue of genre-blending hits, including the soulful “Marabou”, the edgy “Marionette”, the Latin-infused “Mátame” featuring Erik Frank, the infectious “Clap Clap” with Gran Error and Elvana Gjata, the anthemic “Hurricane” featuring Puya, and the sleek “Wild Horses” with Jay Sean—which was later released years later as a remix EP with Lotus and Pitbull.

Her most recent collaboration with Babasha, “De ce te uiți așa?,” underlines her continued relevance. The track has already amassed over 2 million Spotify streams, its music video has surpassed 10 million views on YouTube, and the song itself has attracted more than 12 million streams on YouTube Music. This steady stream of successful releases shows Antonia’s ability to evolve while maintaining her position as one of Romania’s most recognisable pop voices.
