Pandora Boxx, known for her wit, humour, and iconic performances on RuPaul’s Drag Race, has built a career that stretches far beyond the reality TV screen. As a drag queen, comedian, and recording artist, Pandora Boxx has become a beloved figure in the drag community, bringing her infectious energy to stages and screens around the world.

Her journey from Rochester, New York, to international fame includes memorable performances, from her unforgettable impersonation of Carol Channing on the legendary “Snatch Game” to her placing sixth on the sixth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars—beating her 11th/12th placement on the first season of All Stars, and not quite getting as far as her original fifth placement on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Now, with the release of her latest album, “BOXX”, Pandora Boxx is showcasing her musical talents in a fresh and exciting way. The album blends humour, personality, and raw emotion, reflecting the multifaceted entertainer’s unique perspective on life, love, and fame. With each track promising to offer a different shade of Pandora’ Boxx’s charisma, “BOXX” is set to deliver both campy fun and some deeper reflections. This acts as the follow-up to her single “Cooter: The Ballad”.

Starting this debut album off, “Dance” starts off sounding like a haunting Christmas jingle gone wrong which totally works with the aesthetic of her album cover which sees her dressed in black clothes, a blood-red wig, and pale make-up with whispy red smoke trailing around her arms and hands suggesting she’s casting a spell, and that’s exactly what she is doing over the course of these 10 tracks. The song progresses into a positive dance track that sees her encourage us all to let go and dance like no one’s watching in the extremely addicting chorus that will certainly be stuck in our heads—she really is casting a spell on us all!

“Pill” follows next keeping the addictiveness while showcasing her brilliant songwriting and strong vocals. Delving into taking a bitter pill and just going for it, she serves well-thought-out lyrics and confidence in her vocal ability. The upbeat backing track suits her voice perfectly. This track is followed by “Numbers” which switches it up a notch on the dance music meter with a compelling beat which she’s paired with iconic positive lyrics about age just being a number that doesn’t truly matter. She spreads positivity with her humour while keeping up with the beat to create a drag dance track that is both fierce and unforgettable.

The fourth track on the album is “Gay”, a heartfelt empowering anthem that is an inspiration as it lets us all know that it’s okay to be who we are. This is one of those anthems that we had wished was around during our childhood to make us feel less alone and more okay with being gay.

In typical Pandora Boxx style, she adds humour and wit to the lyrics, but instead of taking it to the opposite of positivity, she’s encouraged us all to be a bit more confident in ourselves, with the faultless bridge inviting us to say the word “gay” along with her. This is truly an iconic anthem especially as the word “gay” also has negative connotations, and Pandora Boxx has stripped it of that power and made it feel more joyful and more upbeat.

Track number five is a collaboration with Electropoint, titled “Swish”. It starts with a distorted loop of Pandora Boxx singing the words “Work it”, before giving a progressive dance first verse, leading into the pre-chorus that mentions a variety of pop culture references including “bend and snap” and “vogue” aligned with the word “swish” that has to be a call back to the Katy Perry song. The entire song is a catchy comical number that is totally expanded by Electropoint’s incredible production.

This is followed by “Stars” which transports the listener into space, rocketing high into the galaxy with descriptive lyrics and an engaging vocal. She takes it to a new level with her onomatopoeia lyrics adding humour and comedy, especially during an alien laser gun fight where she includes the words “pew pew, pew pew, pew pew”. The seventh track is “Raspberries”, a pure comedy song in all its forms with Pandora Boxx taking inspiration from her Snatch Game character Carol Channing. Add that to the musical theatre concept and groovy backing track and this is another track that fully showcases this incredible drag queen’s versatility and comedic talent.

Track number eight, “Hey!”, is the latest song to receive a music video, which was released today. High dance beats kickstart this track, progressing into a rhythmic dance backing track and strong vocals from Pandora Boxx that are clearly inspired by the ’80s. The hilarious lyrics feel like she’s found every single word that rhymes with “hey” and transformed them all into an upbeat dance song that stands out for its artistic and comedic value.

“Laugh” is the penultimate track on her debut studio album, which has a hypnotic ethereal backing track that has ’90s-inspired dance beats running throughout, while Pandora Boxx spreads self-love and positivity in her lyrics as she sings about being happy and not letting others put you down, as well as using laughter as armour. The post-chorus made up of laughter in a celestial dance segment is both intoxicating and super clever!

The album ends with the track “Scurvy”, which sees Pandora Boxx start the song off with a pirate voice which launches into a sea shanty song with a catchy symphonic backing track. She mentions how this is just her pirate song and that she’s always wanted a pirate song, making this feel more like a bonus track more than anything else.

In “BOXX”, Pandora Boxx delivers an album that captures her essence as both an entertainer and an artist. It’s fun, bold, and full of personality, with each track offering something new while staying true to her unique flair. With “BOXX”, Pandora Boxx continues to prove that she’s more than just a drag queen or comedian; she’s a performer who knows how to blend music, humour, and heart. Whether you’re here for the laughs or looking for something with a dance beat, this album offers a little bit of everything. Pandora Boxx leaves her mark, once again, in a world that’s lucky to have her.

“BOXX”, by Pandora Boxx, is available to download and stream, right now, across all platforms, via Pandorable Music. If anything, this album alone showcases why she is worthy of the drag race crown. We hope to see her go on to have a RuPaul’s Drag Race coronation, one day, we can only hope.
