Now, 10 years on, the album is getting the celebration it deserves with a special “E•MO•TION (10th Anniversary Edition)”, set to drop on October 17, 2025, and fans have been given their first taste of what’s to come with the release of the brand-new single “More,” which is out now.
When “E•MO•TION” first arrived, it didn’t top charts around the world in the way her previous album “Kiss” had, but its legacy has only grown stronger with time. Critically hailed as one of the best pop albums of the 2010s, it has stood the test of time far more than some of the biggest hits of its release year. Written by Arthur Besnainou, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Cj Baran, with Cj Baran and Arthur Besna credited as producers, “More”, the first of these new tracks to be released, feels like it was destined to be part of “E•MO•TION” all along. Built on an addictive backing beat, it carries the same DNA as the album’s signature sound—’80s-inspired pop with a touch of early ’00s flair—yet it also feels fresh and current.
Jepsen’s vocals shine as she experiments with falsetto in the verses before diving into a soaring chorus. The track blends nostalgic house elements with a funky bassline drop reminiscent of Daft Punk, creating a euphoric dancefloor-ready anthem. Lyrically, “More” explores the delicate push and pull of attraction: the fear of taking a leap with someone new, paired with the undeniable feeling that there could be something deeper, something… more.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Carly Rae Jepsen returned to Los Angeles for a special one-night-only performance at the Troubadour on August 19, 2025—the very same venue where she first showcased songs from “E•MO•TION” back in 2015. The intimate, 500-capacity show sold out instantly, with more than 100,000 fans queuing online for a chance to secure tickets. The demand was so overwhelming that Jepsen broke the venue’s all-time record, proving once again just how beloved “E•MO•TION” has become in the years since its release.
The “E•MO•TION (10th Anniversary Edition)” will arrive in multiple formats, including Digital Deluxe, ATMOS, and a series of limited-edition vinyl pressings. Fans will be able to get their hands on 1LP Blue Swirl, 1LP Zoetrope, and a 2LP Magenta Swirl variant that comes with a special alternate cover and original artwork insert.
