Avicii’s legacy continues to shine as Interscope Records, Pophouse, and the Avicii Estate officially release “Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version)”, this week. The posthumous single, featuring Sandro Cavazza, is a direct response to the overwhelming fan reaction following the release of Avicii: I’m Tim and Avicii: My Last Show, the two highly acclaimed Netflix documentaries that premiered on December 31, 2024.

The track holds significant meaning for Avicii’s devoted fanbase, as it was performed during his final live set at Ushuaia in Ibiza back in 2016. As seen in Avicii: My Last Show, the song captures the euphoric energy that made Tim Bergling one of the most influential DJs and producers of his time.

Written by Dominic Miller, Jan Kask, Kygo, Marcus Thunberg Wessel, Sandro Cavazza, Sebastian Furrer, Sting, and Tim Bergling, whilst it was produced by Avicii alongside Marcus Thunberg Wessel, “Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version)” perfectly captures the Swedish DJ’s signature sound—an electrifying blend of melodic house and uplifting progressions. Sandro Cavazza’s vocals add a heartfelt touch, further enhancing the track’s emotional depth.

Since the release of the two documentaries, Avicii’s impact on the music industry has once again surged, with his albums True (2013), Stories (2015), and Tim (2019) climbing the global charts. Fans have been eager for more ‘official’ releases, and “Forever Yours” has emerged as a clear favourite.

To celebrate the single’s release, Avicii’s official social media channels are sharing exclusive content, including “The Creative Journey Behind the Song”, a behind-the-scenes look at how the track was brought to life.

On top of the official release of the single, they have officially released a “Live at Ushuaïa” video on Avicii’s YouTube Channel, today. The visual shows Avicii performing at Ushuaïa back in 2016, playing this version of “Forever Yours”. It’s a touching tribute to the DJ that we all lost way too soon, and we can only imagine how much more he would’ve influenced dance music as a whole, after the impact and the legacy he left behind. For those who never got to experience his awesome DJ sets, live, videos like this one touches viewers and allows us to feel that raw energy he unleashed every time he was on stage.

Avicii’s influence remains undeniable, and with “Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version)”, his legacy continues to resonate with both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners. The single is available now on all major streaming platforms, via Pinguettes Recordings, under exclusive license to Universal Music.
