Japanese sensation Ado, renowned for her powerful voice and captivating performances, has announced her first-ever CD single release. Set to drop on October 24—Ado’s 21st birthday—the double A-side single will feature the highly anticipated track “Sakura Biyori and Time Machine (with Hatsune Miku)” and a second, yet-to-be-revealed song currently titled “TBA”.
Ado, who made history earlier this year as the first female solo artist to sell out shows at the Japan National Stadium, continues to impress fans with her versatility and drive. Following the success of her summer album Zanmu, the “Utaite” artist is ready to offer a new chapter in her growing music career. Her latest single includes a dream collaboration with none other than virtual pop icon Hatsune Miku, a figure that Ado herself admits played a huge role in her own musical journey.
Speaking about this collaboration, Ado expressed her excitement, “I’m thrilled to announce the release of my first CD single, ‘Sakura Biyori and Time Machine (with Hatsune Miku) / TBA.’ ‘Sakura Biyori and Time Machine (with Hatsune Miku)’ was written by mafumafu, an Utaite whom I deeply respect, and I performed this song live for the first time at ‘Ado SPECIAL LIVE 2024 “Shinzou”‘ at the end of April this year.”
She went on to say, “This song is a collaboration with Hatsune Miku who basically represents my youth. I am truly happy to have had this opportunity to sing with Miku, and I’m sure my past self is thrilled to see such a future come true. I get emotional every time I listen to it, and it’s definitely one of my most precious songs.”
She continued with, “And about ‘TBA,’ this is not the final title. I can’t reveal the title just yet, but I’m sure this will be another fresh Ado song for all. It’s also a very important song that means a lot to me, and I’m very excited to finally be able to release it. It would be great if you could imagine what kind of song it is and look forward to its release.”
The single will be available in six editions, each featuring unique cover art designed by Ado’s image director, ORIHARA. Fans who opt for the Limited Quantity Edition will receive an Acrylic Stand as an added bonus. Although the official cover art for the single has been released, the final title logo remains unrevealed due to “TBA” not being fully announced, just yet.
This marks yet another milestone in this Japanese female singer’s flourishing career, which took off with her 2020 major label debut, “Usseewa”. With chart-topping albums like “Kyougen” and “UTA’S SONGS ONE PIECE FILM RED”, This Utaite artist has firmly established herself as one of Japan’s most prominent young artists.
