In a significant development for the world of rock-en-español, MOLOTOV, the iconic alt-rock band from Mexico, has been nominated for Best Rock Album at the Latin GRAMMYs 2023. This is their first nomination since the 2020 awards. Known for their powerful and distinctive sound, the band has been a driving force in the industry for over three decades.

Following a recent change in management, MOLOTOV is not only gearing up for the prestigious Latin GRAMMYs but has also unveiled plans for a series of special performances in the United States. Fans can catch the band live at Besame Mucho Festival at Dodger Stadium in LA on December 2, 2023, New York City’s Palladium Times Square on December 4, 2023, and San Antonio’s The Espee on December 6, 2023.

Tickets for the New York and San Antonio shows are available here, offering fans a unique opportunity to experience MOLOTOV’s electrifying performances. As the band prepares for these US dates, they are simultaneously working on new music and gearing up for a massive global tour in 2024.

Founded in Mexico City in 1995, MOLOTOV has made a name for themselves with their potent mix of punk, rap, hip-hop, post-grunge alternative rock, and traditional Mexican music. Comprising Ismael “Tito” Fuentes de Garay, Miguel Ángel “Miky” Huidobro Preciado, Juan Francisco “Paco” Ayala González, and Randy Ebright, the band has been a vocal critic of the political establishment, earning them a reputation for their “poison-dart lyrics”.

Throughout their illustrious career marked by gold and platinum record certifications, MOLOTOV has consistently dominated charts across Latin America, Spain, and the US. The nomination of their latest album, “Sólo D’Lira”, for Best Rock Album at the Latin GRAMMYs 2023 solidifies their enduring presence in the rock-en-español scene. This recognition adds to the band’s remarkable achievements, including four Grammy nominations in the Best Latin Rock, Urban, or Alternative Album category, 16 Latin GRAMMY nominations spanning multiple categories, and six victories in the Best Music Video and Best Vocal Rock Album categories.

MOLOTOV has also secured four MTV Video Awards nominations with two wins in the International Viewer’s Choice category. Their impact extends to the Premios MTV Latinoamérica, with 11 nominations and four wins across diverse categories such as Video of the Year, Best Alternative Artist, Best Mexican Artist, and Best Group or Duo. With each accolade, MOLOTOV continues to shape the landscape of rock-en-español, leaving an indelible mark on the global music scene.

As fans await these eagerly anticipated shows in the US and the outcome of the Latin GRAMMYs, MOLOTOV remains a trailblazer in the world of rock-en-español, leaving an enduring impact on the global music scene. Don’t forget to buy your tickets to their NY and TX shows.
