Last week saw another European collaboration between an iconic DJ and the top Eastern European female singer in the world, MoBlack and INNA joined forces for an afro-house dance track, “Mayana”. Continuing her DJ collaborations following her team-up with Dutch-Moroccan DJ R3HAB, titled “I’ll Be Waiting”, she’s now travelled South to collaborate with Italian DJ, MoBlack. It’s a new dance genre for INNA, showing off her versatility and creativity, with MoBlack delivering the underground-inspired club anthem we’ve been waiting for.

This acts as the official follow-up to MoBlack’s collaboration with Jo Carlos and DJ ANUNNAKI on the single “I Believe” and INNA’s aforementioned collaboration with R3HAB on the single “I’ll Be Waiting”, which has been taken down across all platforms, for the time being, and so we’ll be waiting in anticipation for it to return.

Written by Adrian Culetu, Darla Jade, INNA, Marcel Botezan, MoBlack, and Sebastian Barac, with the latter three songwriters also handling production, “Mayana” is a deep Afro-House track that has an underground club feel to it. Exploring themes of closeness, heightened emotions, and surrendering to love, INNA delivers an exotic vocal levelled by heart-inducing energy, connecting with the lyrics on an emotional level.
Vocally fuelled by a worldly sound, INNA brings gorgeous falsettos, globally-induced vocalise, and passionately-expressed lyrics. Yet, it’s MoBlack that delivers when it comes to the track, giving a totally different vibe than we’re used to from this Romanian female singer, immersing her in his world, and crafting an intricate, layered production that spotlights his rhythms, melodies, and beats rather than INNA’s vocals. In doing so, it flips the script of vocalised dance music as we know it, truly allowing genres like afro-house and trance to flow naturally out through our speakers.
An artist fusion we weren’t expecting this year, MoBlack and INNA stun listeners with a conceptual dance music style that shouldn’t work but effortlessly does. Alongside the release of the track, MoBlack has dropped an extended version on his YouTube channel, which we presume will become available on download and streaming platforms at a later date. In addition to that, INNA has released a visualiser music video for the song, made up of three portrait-style video compilations—reminiscent of TikToks, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram and Facebook Reels—placed side-by-side. This layered format adds a new level of conceptuality to the track, inviting viewers to experience the visuals multiple times over, depending on which part they focus on.
Italian DJ and producer MoBlack is renowned for pioneering Afro-House music on a global scale. With a deep, rhythmic sound that blends traditional African influences with electronic beats, MoBlack—real name Mimmo Falcone—has carved out a respected name in underground and international dance scenes. He is also the founder of MoBlack Records, a label that has become synonymous with cutting-edge Afro-House, supporting both emerging and established talent in the genre. His productions are known for their hypnotic grooves, organic textures, and emotive depth, earning regular support from some of the world’s top DJs.
As for INNA, she is a Romanian pop powerhouse who has made an undeniable mark on the global music landscape with her infectious dance anthems and genre-crossing versatility. Since her breakout hit “Hot” in 2008, INNA—real name Elena Alexandra Apostoleanu—has remained a constant chart presence across Europe, Latin America, and beyond. Her signature blend of electro-pop, house, and Latin-inspired rhythms has earned her millions of fans, while her consistent evolution as an artist has kept her music fresh and relevant. Known for her dynamic vocals, high-energy performances, and a digital-first approach to music releases, this top Eastern European artist continues to thrive as one of Romania’s most successful international artists.
“Mayana”, by MoBlack and INNA, is available to download and stream, right now, across all platforms, via Global Records, Sony Publishing UK, and Honua Music Group.
