Jordi, the talented artist with a massive following of over 15 million fans on social media, has delighted her audience with the release of her latest track and music video, “Just A Friend”. The release of this track follows up her debut single “Hate You”.
The much-anticipated song, distributed via ONErpm, made its debut just before Labor Day and quickly gained traction with over 51,000 pre-saves. Notably, SiriusXM’s Mikey Piff featured the track on his Hitbound show, further solidifying its place in the music world.
“‘Just a Friend’ is a song that embodies the playful confidence of knowing your worth, while also acknowledging that your gut feeling is always right,” Jordi explains, shedding light on the song’s underlying theme.
Written by Jordi, Leo Mellace, Nate Cyphert, and Riley Biederer, whilst it has been produced by Leo Mellace, “Just A Friend” is a cross-genre pop-R&B-dance hit that we can’t get enough of. Filled with the ’00s vibes that we all grew up around, she shines vocally with the self-empowering and sarcastic lyrics.
Having already gained over a million Spotify streams, clearly with the intention of closing the streaming gap with “Hate You” – which has over 9.7 million streams on the platform, “Just A Friend” is a powerful and relatable track that is bound to make an impact in every single playlist. Jordi lets her listeners know that they must always believe in themselves, be attuned to what their gut is saying, and know when they deserve better.

Directed by Darrin James, whilst Alexander Baele acted as Executive Producer, this music video is a stunning portrayal of the song as we watch Jordi filming a music video, starting off in the make-up room before heading to various different sets all the while she’s having a slight argument with her boyfriend (played by Ollie Muhl). Iconic in the way this is shot, the music video syncs up the lyrics with both Jordi and her boyfriend as he attempts to convince her that this other girl is just a friend. Refusing to believe it, we watch her continuously walk away from him, before security leads him out, at the end.
Bringing a Britney Spears “…Baby One More Time” style to this visual, we watch Jordi jump into epic dance choreography which has been put together by @tayunofficial. Not only is it styled out to perfection, but Jordi is joined by diverse dancers who all nail the choreography and showcase to the world that we all can relate to this song. In the end, we see them all dancing away together, showing how friendships can be stronger than toxic relationships. The dancers who join Jordi in the music video are Janna Osborne, Kae Elmido, Meghan Gomez, and @tayunofficial.
