Green Day’s “Saviors” Secures Epic Fifth UK Number 1 Album

Green Day, the legendary punk-pop trio consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong, Tré Cool, and Mike Dirnt, has once again claimed the top spot on the UK Official Albums Chart, this time with their latest release, “Saviors”. This accomplishment marks their fifth Official UK Number 1 album, adding to the impressive list that includes “American Idiot” (2004), “21st Century Breakdown” (2009), “Revolution Radio” (2016), and “Father of All…” (2020).

“Saviors” not only dominates the overall Official UK Albums Chart but also showcases its popularity in various formats. The album claims the top spot on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, with a remarkable one-third of its total sales attributed to vinyl purchases. Additionally, “Saviors” makes an impressive Top 5 debut on the Official Record Store Chart, landing at Number 3 and highlighting its strong presence in the UK’s independent record shops.

With this achievement, Green Day joins the ranks of esteemed acts like Foo Fighters, Prince, and Céline Dion, sharing the distinction of having the most Number 1 albums on the Official Albums Chart.

In parallel success stories, Vermont singer-songwriter Noah Kahan achieves a new peak with “Stick Season”, securing a higher position on the chart, at Number 2. This follows the success of the single of the same name which has just made it to its fourth-consecutive week at Number 1 on the UK Official Singles chart, As for Wrexham-formed pop-punk outfit Neck Deep, they managed to achieve Number 11 with their eponymous fifth studio album. The band continues to leave their mark on the Official UK Albums Chart with their fourth Top 20 LP.

Notably, Neck Deep takes the lead on this week’s Official Record Store Chart, boasting the highest physical copies sold in the UK’s independent record shops over the past seven days. The album also achieves a Top 5 debut on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, securing the second position.
