The nostalgic angle feels fitting for Cascada, whose rise in the mid-2000s saw the dance group regularly transform familiar songs into high-energy EDM hits. With that legacy in mind, “boy you turn me on” almost feels like it could have sat alongside tracks from the “Everytime We Touch” or “Perfect Day” eras. Instead, Felix Jaehn and Cascada bring the disco classic firmly into 2026 with an Ibiza-ready sound that looks set to land on DJ tracklists this summer.

With that club-ready energy setting the tone, “boy you turn me on” was written by Felix Jaehn, Xoro, Troy Miller, Georgia Meek, and Maegan Cottone, while the original 1980 track “Upside Down” was penned by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards of Chic. Production on the new release comes from Felix Jaehn, Luca Eck, Xoro, and Miller, with Steve Manovski handling vocal production and Ollie Knight serving as mixing and mastering engineer. Eck also contributes programming and keyboards, while Miller provides bass.

At the centre of it all is Cascada vocalist Natalie Horler, whose performance brings the project’s signature energy firmly into 2026. Natalie Horler delivers powerful vocals while effortlessly connecting with the song’s lyrics, adding an emotional spark that feels just as at home on a festival stage as it does on the dancefloor, as well as our own party playlists.

Upbeat and club-worthy, Felix Jaehn doesn’t miss a beat, showcasing his many years in the dance world, and it’s no wonder Jaehn remains such a prominent name in EDM with a rhythm this addictive. He has taken nostalgic ’90s club anthemic beats, run them through Cascada’s ’00s-era sound, and polished the track with a slick ’20s dance groove that proves impossible not to move to. The updated lyrics, performed by Natalie Horler and inspired by the original Diana Ross classic “Upside Down”, explore a disorienting and turbulent relationship where a partner’s actions leave emotions spinning in a whirlwind of indecision.

That instinct for crafting infectious dance records has defined much of Felix Jaehn’s career. The German DJ and producer rose to global prominence in 2015 with the tropical house remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader”, which topped charts worldwide and introduced his melodic, feel-good approach to dance music to a massive audience. Later that year, he followed up with “Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better)” featuring Jasmine Thompson, a modern rework of the Rufus & Chaka Khan classic that became another international hit. Since then, Felix Jaehn has built an impressive catalogue of club-ready releases, collaborating with artists across pop and electronic music while continuing to shape a sound that blends uplifting melodies with festival-ready energy.

For Cascada, now primarily the solo project of vocalist Natalie Horler, “boy you turn me on” continues a career built on high-energy dance anthems. The German project rose to fame in the mid-2000s with hits like “Everytime We Touch”, “Miracle”, and “What Hurts the Most”, which combined catchy melodies with pulsating Eurodance beats and established Horler as a powerhouse vocalist. In 2024, Cascada released their sixth studio album, “Studio 24″—the first in 12 years—marking a major comeback. With recent collaborations including Timmy Trumpet, Jax Jones, YouNotUs, Steve Aoki, and now Felix Jaehn, Cascada is once again cementing their place in the modern EDM scene.

With “boy you turn me on”, Felix Jaehn and Cascada deliver a vibrant fusion of eras, combining lyrics inspired by Diana Ross’s 1980 classic “Upside Down” with ’90s-inspired club beats and modern EDM energy. Natalie Horler’s powerful vocals, paired with Jaehn’s signature production, create a track that’s both nostalgic and fresh, destined to light up festivals, clubs, and playlists alike. Building on Cascada’s comeback with “Studio 24” and Jaehn’s string of international hits, this collaboration proves that both artists remain at the forefront of dance music, ready to captivate a new generation while paying homage to the classics that inspired them.
