Celebrated producer, songwriter, and global music icon Sean Garrett has received dual recognition from his home state of Georgia, marking a significant career milestone while also spotlighting his continued efforts to give back to the next generation.
On June 20, 2025, Sean Garrett, affectionately known in the industry as “The Pen” for his extraordinary songwriting prowess, was honoured at the Georgia State Capitol with two prestigious accolades. State Representative Park Cannon presented Garrett with the Outstanding Georgia Citizen Award, officially signed by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. On the same day, he was also awarded a Proclamation from the City of Atlanta (District 3), presented by Demetrius McCray from the Atlanta Mayor’s Office, on behalf of Councilman Amos.
These tributes not only celebrate Sean Garrett’s unparalleled impact on the music industry but also recognise his dedication to supporting young creatives in his home state. With an impressive catalogue that includes 18 Billboard Hot 100 hits and more than 52 No. 1 records across the globe, Garrett has helped shape the sound of pop, R&B, and hip-hop over the past two decades.

It is currently rolling out across public schools in the metro area, including those in the Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton County Schools districts.
“To be honored in the same city where my dreams began is humbling,” said Garrett. “Music gave me a voice—and now I’m using that voice to uplift the next generation.”
