In a historic moment for British rap, D-Block Europe, comprised of Young Adz and Dirtbike LB, is celebrating their first-ever UK Official Number 1 album with “Rolling Stone”. The Lewisham-formed duo’s third full-length studio album features collaborations with Yxng Bane, Noizy, and Kodak Black, solidifying their position at the top of the charts.

This achievement marks D-Block Europe’s eighth Top 10 album, surpassing The Streets and claiming the title of the British rap act with the most Top 10 albums in UK chart history. Their previous successes include the 2018 Yxng Bane collaborative record “Any Minute Now”, 2019’s “Home Alone” and “PTSD”, 2020’s “Street Trauma” and “The Blue Print – Us Vs. Them”, 2021’s “Home Alone “, and 2022’s LP “Lap 5”, and now 2024’s “Rolling Stone”.

“Rolling Stone” not only dominates the Official Albums Chart but also clinches the number one spot on the Official Record Store Chart, reflecting its popularity as the most-purchased album in the UK’s independent record stores. Additionally, the album makes an impressive debut at Number 1 on the Official Physical Albums Chart.

In a statement to the Official Charts Company, D-Block Europe expressed their gratitude, saying, “D-Block Europe in the building! Young black rockstars! Number 1! Rolling Stone…thank you. We love you. Gang gang, you know the vibes!”

21 Savage, originally hailing from Plaistow and shaped by the vibes of Atlanta, achieves a remarkable career milestone with his latest solo endeavor, “american dream”. The album not only captures attention but also secures an impressive Number 2 position on the charts. Completing the Top 3 with another debut on the UK Charts, the London rock group, The Vaccines, claim Number 3 with their dynamic sixth Top 5 album, the lively “Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations”. The album also tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and claims the Number 2 spot on this week’s Official Record Store Chart.

Sticking to Number 4 is Noah Kahan with “Stick Season”, the title track of which is currently at Number 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart for a third week having fended off Ariana Grande. And down two is The Weeknd with his album “The Highlights”.

In a different corner of the music scene, Teddy Swims is making waves on the Official Singles Chart with his breakout track, “Lose Control”. The track’s success is mirrored by the album it is a part of, “I’ve Tried Everything but Therapy (Part 1)”, which reaches a new peak, climbing three positions to secure Number 21.

Shifting gears to the indie scene, Bill Ryder-Jones, a singer-songwriter hailing from Merseyside and former guitarist of The Coral, achieves a career milestone with his fifth solo album, “Iechyd Da”. The title, which means ‘good luck’ in Welsh, not only marks his first solo Top 40 collection but also makes a notable impact on the charts. The album secures Number 30 overall and achieves Top 5 debuts on both the Official Vinyl Albums Chart at Number 2 and the Official Record Store Chart at Number 3.

The success of “Rolling Stone” not only cements D-Block Europe’s place in UK chart history but also signifies the enduring appeal of British rap on the global stage.
