“The inspiration came from Ukrainian culture—its roots, rhythms, originality, and mysticism,” Seve Clain says. “I wanted to incorporate our ethnic motifs and give them a contemporary sound. I felt that music is a way to convey our identity without words. In this piece, I tried to merge the spirit of our ancestors with the rhythms of today.”
Authentic vocals and rhythmic folk motifs bring an earthy depth to the track, contrasting against its electronic core. Talking about the title of the track, he says: “’Kryvogo Tancia’ is not just an ancient dance form, but a metaphor for our journey as a people. We don’t always move in a straight line—often through hardship—but we always keep our rhythm and dignity. That’s where the beauty lies—in our ability to stay united, even in chaos. I wanted to express freedom. That feeling of uplift, as if you’re breaking away from the ground, yet still deeply rooted.”
“This track is more personal and ethnic,” the Ukrainian DJ continued. “I felt a need to look inward—into my origins. And music helped me do that honestly and emotionally. Dance, for me, is a ritual. This is music for both the body and the soul. Everyone has their own life dance—some dance in joy, others in sorrow—but that movement is always about life. And about the strength that lies within it,”
