INNA’s latest journey to Mexico took an unexpected turn when her November 7 concert in Mexico City was abruptly cancelled while she was already on her flight to the country. Scheduled to perform at Frontón México as part of a series titled Music Sessions from the event organisers, INNA and her fans were surprised by the sudden cancellation, with no advance warning. The incident has since sparked controversy, particularly surrounding GP Producer, the event company responsible for the show.

In a candid and heartfelt video shared on social media, which has since been removed, INNA apologised directly to her fans and expressed her shock, having only discovered the cancellation mid-flight. Speaking in Spanish—we used AI to translate her words, so please forgive any errors that may have slipped through—INNA said, “Hello friends from Mexico, I have news for you that I really don’t even have the courage to tell you. I was informed a few hours ago that the concert has been cancelled and that those who organised it have disappeared.”

She continued, “In addition, the ticket website is not working. The truth is that it left me speechless. I want to assure you and swear that it is not my fault. I am here on my flight to Mexico and my team is going to try to do everything that can be done to solve this problem. I think that bad people like to play with my career, with my fans, and organise concerts and then disappear as if it were nothing and the truth is that I feel like an asshole, sorry!”

Adding to the disappointment, DJ Mariana Bo, who was set to perform with INNA at the event, also shared a statement via her Instagram stories, explaining her withdrawal from the lineup. Again, the statement was written in Spanish and we used an AI to translate the words into English, so please forgive us for any errors. “I regret to inform you that my presentation at Frontón Ciudad de México alongside INNA, named ‘CDMX Music Sessions’, has been cancelled due to breach of contract and reasons beyond the artist’s control,” she stated. The message quickly resonated with fans, as they saw both artists affected by what appears to be an organisational failure.

The cancellation of INNA’s concert isn’t an isolated incident when it comes to GP Producer’s recent activities. Led by Óscar Adrián Pérez Espinosa, the company has faced increasing scrutiny for its handling of high-profile events across Mexico, with accusations ranging from disorganisation to outright negligence. Fans and ticket holders have voiced concerns over GP Producer’s lack of transparency, citing not only INNA’s cancelled show but also other upcoming events under their banner. This includes the other “Music Sessions” event scheduled for Reynosa, which now hang in the balance.

In particular, GP Producer’s communication issues have frustrated attendees, many of whom report being left in the dark with little to no updates. This has prompted INNA’s fan community, known as “Club Rockers”, to rally on social media, urging others to seek intervention from Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco). “Club Rockers, let’s file massive lawsuits with Profeco to stop this type of act from happening,” one fan wrote, capturing the growing demand for accountability. The call for action reflects an overwhelming sense among fans and other artists alike that more transparency and reliability are needed from GP Producer going forward.

Profeco has gone on to release a statement on X (formerly Twitter), stating in Spanish—and this is the translation provided by X: “In view of the cancellation of various events organized by the promoter GP Producer, Profeco reminds affected persons that they have the right to a refund for the ticket paid, plus extra compensation for an amount not less than 20%, as indicated in article 92 Bis of the Federal Consumer Protection Law.”

Various other events organised by GP Producer have also been cancelled, according to fans, to which they’ve contacted Profico—hence the statement that they released. These events include Summer Fest in Veracruz, Cactus Festival in Saltillo, Cachanilla Festival in Mexicali, División Minúscula concerts in Xalapa and Veracruz, Los Románticos de Zacatecas in Xalapa and Veracruz, Jumbo at the “Music Sessions” in Reynosa, as well as MikeCrack and Los Compas Live Show in Saltillo which was cancelled without notice and no event was even organised according to the venue.

Despite the unfortunate situation, INNA showed her unwavering commitment to her fans, pledging to reschedule the concert independently if possible. This determination underscores her strong connection with her Mexican audience, which has been evident throughout her career. Earlier this year, INNA performed at Tecate Emblema, where she was greeted with overwhelming support. The festival crowd chanted her name, with fans even endearingly referring to her as “the most Mexican Romanian”. Her performance was a powerful moment for both INNA and her fans, with some moments bringing her to tears as she felt the love from her Mexican audience.

During her Tecate Emblema performance, INNA also demonstrated her playful side by addressing the event organisers. She lightheartedly questioned why she hadn’t been placed on the main stage, noting that she had the energy and following to perform for the entire festival. “Why am I not on the main stage, because I’m not average?” she joked with her fans, playfully pointing out her desire for an even larger platform.

INNA’s interactions at Tecate Emblema highlighted her longstanding love for Mexico and her strong bond with her fans there. Following the recent concert cancellation, her response once again affirmed her commitment to her audience. Fans have rallied behind INNA’s promise to return, emphasising that this setback only strengthens their admiration for the artist, who consistently goes above and beyond for her supporters; and has, herself, admitted that she was scammed by GP Producer alongside the fans, regardless of the fact that the video has been taken down with no new news since.

As INNA explores ways to reschedule her Mexico City concert independently, her fans remain optimistic, trusting in her genuine devotion to bringing her energy back to the city. In the meantime, the outpouring of support online demonstrates that her connection with Mexican fans is unshakeable, reinforcing her place as one of the country’s most beloved international artists.

Show some love to this Romanian star and stream her music, with iconic tracks like “Hot”, “Amazing”, and “Sun Is Up”, as well as collaborations with top international artists including Daddy Yankee, Sean Paul, Reik, Flo Rida, Pitbull, Steflon Don, J Balvin, Juan Magan, Alexandra Stan, R3hab, Timmy Trumpet, Alok, and Kris Kross Amsterdam, it’s understandable why she is known as the top Eastern European artist in the world!
