Newly released this week is As December Falls‘ incredible new single “Angry Cry”. The four-piece indie-rock band also dropped a lofi video to accompany the single release. The track is likely to be the first single from their forthcoming fourth studio album, following “Join The Club” which charted at Number 11 on the UK Official Albums Chart, Number 5 on the Scottish Official Albums Chart, and Number 1 on the UK Official Albums Download Chart, the UK Official Rock & Metal Albums Chart, and the UK Official Independent Albums Chart. This new single release acts as the follow-up to their feature on Down and Out’s single “Y U Gotta Do Me Like That”.

Written by Ande Hunter, Bethany Hunter, and Timmy Francis, whilst it was produced by Alex Copp, mixed by Sam Guaiana, and mastered by Mike Kalajian, “Angry Cry” sees the band take on a more edgier hard-rock style, thrashing down some emotional lyrics, flawless guitar chords, a strong bass strums, and some hard-hitting drums. Addicting to no end, As December Falls does not hold back on this one, giving an unforgettable rhythm that is set to be stuck in our heads for the rest of the day.
Shining as the frontwoman of the band, Bethany Hunter dives right in with “Angry Cry”, hitting every note with strength and passion, driving home the message of the song. The lyrics touch upon mental health and how some people can deal with problems and issues much better than others, with Bethany Hunter singing about becoming overwhelmed by everything that is going on and how she lets it mount up and up until it’s too much and she angry cries. Technically brilliant, the songwriters use awesome metaphors that easily connect the song to listeners as well as superb poetic alliteration and rhymes to create rhythm and flow, which wraps perfectly around the rock instruments.
The lofi music video that accompanies the track is a performance-based vertical visual that showcases all four member’s electric energy. Their hard-rock vibes transcend brilliantly to the viewers, showcasing their stage presence throughout. The editing in the video adds engaging effects that keep the audience watching. This four-piece band knows exactly how to rock out and we cannot wait to see them perform live, one day.
Once again, As December Falls does not disappoint. “Angry Cry” is another flawless track from this band and they are continuing to show why they’re one of the forefront indie-rock bands around at the moment, and definitely ones to watch.
