Following the release of her collaboration with Lilly Palmer, “Unite The Universe”, Caroline Roxy shared insights into her musical journey, creative process, and ambitions for the future in an exclusive interview with Good Star Vibes. During our conversation, Caroline Roxy revealed how the collaboration with Lilly Palmer first came together, reflected on the emotional connection she has maintained with music since childhood, and discussed the challenges of incorporating live vocals into her DJ sets. She also opened up about her Rave Ritual concept, her recent signing with Active Talent Agency, and her plans to take her music to even more audiences around the world in 2027.
You’ve built a career that allows you to move between being a DJ, producer, songwriter, and vocalist, and you even incorporate your own live vocals into your DJ sets. Do you see those as separate sides of your creativity, or have they increasingly become parts of one overall identity as Caroline Roxy?
For me, it is all about the music, and I’m really happy that I have built a world where I can combine all the different approaches into my project. I love being a DJ, I love to produce, I love to create songs and to sing—one without the other would make me feel like I’m missing one part.
Your new collaboration with Lilly Palmer, “Unite The Universe”, has recently been released, bringing together Lilly Palmer’s techno production with your vocals. How did the collaboration first come about, and what made you want to be part of the track?
I produced the track and wrote the vocal and sent my work to Lilly Palmer, who immediately liked it and wanted to collaborate on it. It turned out a great collaboration that we both really love and has gotten a great response.

Your connection with music started incredibly early, with piano and singing forming part of your childhood before you eventually moved behind the decks and into production. Looking back, were there particular moments that made you realise electronic music was where you wanted to take your career, and how much of that musical upbringing can still be heard in the artist you are today?
My love for music has been there since I was just a kid. I loved playing the piano and to sing, but mostly music was therapy for me even as a young kid. There’s just something to it that isn’t comparable to anything else. Whenever I felt down as a kid, I would listen to music, and growing up, it has really taken me through some hard times. That part is still there for me today, and in many tracks, there are always a lot of emotions behind it.
Your debut release became the official anthem for Summerburst Festival in 2018, where you also had the opportunity to perform on the main stage. Eight years later, you’ve performed internationally and worked with some huge names in electronic music. When you think back to Caroline Roxy standing on that Summerburst stage in 2018, how does the career you have now compare with what you imagined for yourself at the time?
I have always had very big dreams, and I’m a hard worker. I don’t think there’s a limit to what you can achieve if you just work hard and work with something you love. I also do believe that the most important thing is to enjoy the journey, wherever it takes you, and honestly, I don’t know what I imagined back then, but I’ve always had the dream to make people connect through music.

2026 has been an incredible year for collaborations, seeing you work with artists including Armin van Buuren, Maddix, Hannah Laing, Marlon Hoffstadt, BEAUZ, and now Lilly Palmer. What do you think these different artists hear in your voice and artistry that makes them want to work with you, and what have you learned about yourself creatively from collaborating with so many different people?
I think it’s both that my voice is a bit different but also the way I write music. I’m not really one to follow the rules, actually, and I love to experiment, so it might be that it sounds a bit fresh, if that makes sense? Haha.
At the same time, you’ve continued establishing your own identity through releases such as “Push It”, “DRIP”, and the EP “Culture Of Rave”. When you’re collaborating with internationally recognised artists while simultaneously developing Caroline Roxy as an artist in your own right, how do you make sure your individual musical identity continues to come through?
Whenever doing a collaboration, it’s always gonna be a mix with the other artists for sure, but since I’ve written all the vocals and melodies myself, it’s quite easy to keep the identity in it. I think it’s harder if someone else writes the track and you just perform it.
One particularly interesting part of your artistry is the way you combine DJing with live vocals, which gives audiences something quite different from a traditional DJ set. What goes into preparing a performance where you’re moving between those two roles, and does singing your own tracks live change the connection you feel with the crowd?
I think it adds something extra when I also perform the live vocals. The preparation is a bit difficult because I’ve to make sure there’s enough time from mixing in the track to be ready with in-ear monitors and the mic before it’s time to sing. Let’s say I love the extra stress, haha.

You’re also developing Rave Ritual, a live concept centred around music, vocals, movement, and the idea of creating a collective experience between you and the audience. You’ve spoken about those moments when thousands of people can feel like one, which also feels closely connected to the message behind “Unite The Universe”. Has that idea of bringing people together through electronic music become a bigger part of what you want Caroline Roxy to represent?
Yes, that’s all I want. In a world where a lot of things can feel hard, I want to create a space where all of that disappears. In my opinion, we’re all equals, and the feeling of us all connected is larger than anything else. I love to be on stage and to perform; don’t get me wrong, but I hate the feeling of me being better than anyone else in the crowd. I don’t want anyone to come to watch me perform. I want them to be a part of it on the same terms as me.

You’ve recently signed with Active Talent Agency for touring representation across the UK, North America, and South America, opening another exciting chapter in an already busy year. What does that partnership mean for the next stage of your live career, and, from our slightly biased UK perspective, could we potentially be seeing much more of Caroline Roxy over here?
Super excited for this new chapter! I’ve always loved North and South America. And the UK, of course! I just played a festival there, and I can’t wait to be back (and I will soon!)
With so much happening throughout 2026, from major collaborations and your own releases to Rave Ritual and the continued expansion of your international live career, it feels like you’re entering an important new chapter. As you look towards 2027, what ambitions are still sitting at the top of your list, and is there anything coming up that you can give Good Star Vibes readers a little hint about?
I’m super excited for what lays ahead. I look forward to bringing Rave Ritual around the world, and I already can’t wait for festival season. A LOT will happen next year!
