Nerdcore hip-hop powerhouse Daddyphatsnaps has released his brand-new single, “SUPERMAN”, in collaboration with OmarCameUp, last Friday, coinciding with the buzz surrounding the new Superman: Legacy film. The track arrives at a major career milestone for independent artist Daddyphatsnaps, also known as DPS, as he celebrates surpassing 1 billion global streams across platforms. This acts as the follow-up to DPS’s collaboration with Cam Steady and Geno Five on the track “HATER (DIO BRANDO)”, which featured Zepelin Beats and Zyller; and OmarCameUp’s collaboration with Preshser P on the single “GALAXY IMPACT (GARP)”.
Known offstage as Leon Young, Daddyphatsnaps is widely regarded as a trailblazer within the nerdcore music scene. Fusing hip-hop with anime, gaming, and comic book storytelling, the Long Beach-based creative has carved out a lane of his own through cinematic production, raw lyricism, and a striking visual aesthetic. As for OmarCameUp, real name Shakir Omar Desuza, he hails from North Lauderdale, Florida, and he has continued to prove himself as a seasoned artist, producer, and rapper who has over 45 million streams to his name.
The new release continues Daddyphatsnaps’ reputation for consistency and fan connection. Co-written with OmarCameUp, who also produced the track, “SUPERMAN” sees DPS taking on mixing duties, maintaining the hands-on creative approach that’s defined much of his discography. It’s a true DIY success story that has landed him coverage in Billboard, Forbes, and several top-tier entertainment outlets.
