Written by Marshmello, Charlie Handsome, Mark Holman, Geoff Warburton, and Ryan Hurd, and produced by Marshmello, Charlie Handsome, and Lukas Scott, “Where We Go” leans into a fusion of electronic and country influences. Shimmering synth textures sit alongside a twang-driven guitar introduction, with James Maddocks contributing guitar work to the track. Addictive in its delivery, the song leans into a strong country-leaning rhythm before evolving, as Marshmello introduces dance elements and progressive house influences, culminating in a synth-led drop that injects EDM energy into the mix.

Thomas Rhett’s smooth, melodic vocal delivery blends seamlessly into Marshmello’s polished production, creating a track that balances emotional warmth with an energetic pulse. As the song builds, a driving beat propels it towards a stadium-ready chorus, anchored by the instantly memorable line: “I ain’t even had a drink but I’m backroad tipsy, lose my mind every time you kiss me, I don’t care where we go as long as you’re here with me.” Lyrically, the track centres on leaving the city behind for an all-night drive, with the destination rendered irrelevant so long as they are together.

The single arrives alongside a visual component that captures the natural chemistry between the two artists, further enhancing the track’s easygoing yet electrifying atmosphere. Early reactions have already highlighted its cross-genre appeal, with predictions pointing to its potential to resonate across clubs, festivals, and large-scale live settings alike.

This latest release follows a string of country-leaning releases from Marshmello, including collaborations with Hudson Westbrook and Jelly Roll. These tracks have drawn attention for their blend of modern electronic production with traditional country elements, reinforcing his growing presence within the genre. His earlier collaboration with Kane Brown, “Miles On It”, marked a historic moment, becoming the first track to debut at number one on both the Billboard US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart and the Billboard US Country Airplay Chart.

For Thomas Rhett, the single represents another step in his continued evolution as a genre-fluid artist. Known for combining contemporary country storytelling with broader musical influences, he brings his signature style to the collaboration while maintaining the authenticity that has defined his career. The release follows his recent chart success and a reinterpretation of “Georgia On My Mind”, which featured prominently in ESPN’s Masters Tournament campaign.

Beyond the new music, Rhett is preparing to return to the stage with his upcoming “The Soundtrack To Life Tour”, a multi-city run set to showcase his high-energy performances. The tour will feature a rotating lineup of emerging acts and includes milestone stadium shows alongside Niall Horan.

With “Where We Go”, these two established artists deliver a track that not only bridges genres but also highlights the evolving landscape of modern music, where collaboration and experimentation continue to shape the sound of global hits.

“Where We Go”, by Marshmello and Thomas Rhett, is available to download and stream, right now, across all platforms, via Joytime Collective and Big Loud under exclusive licence to Mercury Records, a division of UMG Recordings.
