As the thrilling series of trials and challenges unfold, another departure marks the journey of the celebrities in the Australian jungle. On the recent episode of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! 2023, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed the two celebrities in the bottom two, building up the tension for the audience and the campmates alike, right before announcing Nella Rose as the eliminated contestant.
The latest elimination follows a series of exits that have reshaped the dynamics within the jungle, including the departure of retired jockey Frankie Dettori as the first loss for the contestants. We’re just days away from the final now, and the competition is really heating up.
Nella Rose may have been the one who left, but Marvin Humes was also in the bottom two. The JLS singer has yet to face a trial on his own and we saw his slight annoyance at Fred Siriex announcing he would do the trial before everyone had their say. Rather than coming to a group decision, Siriex refused to listen to anyone else fully and rose to the occasion of the trial. Humes stated that he would do the trial the following day – luckily this is possible as being in the bottom two could have seen him sent home before facing a trial solely by himself.
Siriex went on to face Celebrity Distressing Rooms in which he had to enter five rooms, based on different celebrities, and find stars. He managed to win seven out of nine stars, earning food in which Josie Gibson would be cooking – much to Siriex’s distaste. The ensuing flare of tensions certainly followed, with Gibson experimenting with the beans in the hope of creating bean fritters which didn’t work out as planned – just as Siriex assumed; on top of that, Siriex’s stars earned the campmates Kangaroo tail which once again flared tensions as Siriex consistently told Gibson how he would cook it.
All this juicy drama is totally down to Rose becoming the camp leader and choosing the roles of the campmates. Even during her interview with Ant & Dec, she admitted she had two options – one, to have a nice happy camp, or two, to create some drama – and we all love a bit of drama.
Reflecting on her time in the jungle, Rose shared thoughts about facing fears through the demanding trials, acknowledging the daunting nature of the challenges encountered during their stay. She was then asked about her confrontations with Nigel Farage and Siriex after being shown a VT, which she said. “I’m not usually put in situations where I’m around people that don’t have the same kind of walk of life as me, so when I hear they have different mindsets and I hear them, I’m shocked. So I automatically have to say something because, to me, it’s kind of shocking sometimes. But yeah, it is what it is.”
Throughout the journey, the departed personality engaged in notable exchanges, addressing topics ranging from cultural appropriation to generational differences. Candid discussions and clashes with other camp members added layers of depth to the overall dynamics within the camp.
The YouTuber’s thoughts on the remaining journey in the jungle resonated with viewers, echoing support for Sam Thompson as the anticipated winner – the same person that Dettori threw support behind, amplifying the anticipation for what lies ahead in the final stretch of the series.
Rose’s departure makes her the official fourth campmate to leave, following Dettori’s elimination. as well as Grace Dent and Jamie Lynn Spears leaving due to medical reasons, days from each other, respectively.
