British band Elbow has once again triumphed on the UK Official Albums Chart, claiming the coveted Number 1 spot with their latest release, “AUDIO VERTIGO”. In doing so, they’ve managed to stop Ariana Grande’s two-week streak at the top of the charts. This marks their fourth chart-topping album, further solidifying their position as one of the nation’s most-loved musical acts.

Comprising members Guy Garvey, Pete Turner, Alex Reeves, and Craig and Mark Potter, the group’s milestone achievement with “AUDIO VERTIGO” adds to their impressive discography, which includes acclaimed albums such as “The Take Off And Landing Of Everything” in 2014, “Little Fictions” in 2017, and “Giants Of All Sizes” in 2019.

Notably, “AUDIO VERTIGO” not only clinched the top spot on the UK Official Albums Chart but also emerged as the best-selling vinyl record of the week, topping both the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and the Official Record Store Chart. This achievement underscores the five-piece’s enduring appeal across various formats and reaffirms their status as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry.

In a competitive week on the charts, Elbow faced formidable contenders, including Future and Metro Boomin’s collaborative project “WE DON’T TRUST YOU”, which debuted at Number 2. Despite the absence of a physical release, the record made a significant impact based solely on streams and downloads, signalling the enduring popularity of both artists.

Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo’s “GUTS” made a notable resurgence, propelled by the deluxe “GUTS (spilled)” edition, which includes additional tracks and garnered renewed interest from fans; the album jumped a huge 12 positions and landed at Number 3. Additionally, Scottish alt-rockers The Jesus and Mary Chain achieved their highest-charting album in nearly four decades with “Glasgow Eyes”, which charted at Number 7, further enriching the diverse landscape of the UK music scene, and proving they’re still here and can gain Top 10s, even after 37 years.

Amidst these achievements, emerging talents also made their mark on the charts, with GRAMMY-winning Amapiano star Tyla securing her first UK Top 20 album with her eponymous debut, “TYLA”, charting at Number 19. Similarly, New Jersey singer-songwriter FLETCHER celebrated her inaugural Top 40 album with “In Search Of The Antidote”. which landed at Number 26, showcasing her as one to watch in the coming years.

As Elbow continues to captivate audiences with their evocative melodies and poignant lyricism, “AUDIO VERTIGO” stands as a testament to their enduring creativity and unwavering musical prowess, solidifying their status as icons within rock music and the UK Chart as a whole.
