In a gripping turn of events, the first eviction of the 2023 season of Big Brother left the house in turmoil. Farida Khalifa, one of the early favourites, has been voted out, leaving the housemates and viewers in shock. The eviction took place on Friday, October 13, as the public had the final say in deciding the fate of either Kerry Riches or Farida Khalifa after less than a week in the Big Brother house.

Farida Khalifa, who had made a significant impression during her brief stay in the house, bid farewell to the live crowd, saying, “I had the most amazing time. Thank you, everyone, for making the effort and coming today.”

The nominations of both Farida and Kerry were announced on the show “Big Brother Late & Live” on Thursday, October 12, and viewers were treated to footage of the housemates’ nominations just before the eviction on Friday. Co-host AJ Odudu confirmed that more than half a million people cast their votes in this pivotal eviction.

Farida and Kerry had clashed throughout the week, with Farida suggesting that the younger cast members were targeting the older housemates for eviction.

Unlike previous seasons, housemates were only allowed to nominate one person, and the final tally revealed eight nominations for Farida, five for Kerry, two for Paul, and one for Henry.

One housemate who had a lucky escape was Olivia Young. She initially faced eviction following a launch night twist when housemates had to answer awkward questions from Big Brother to break the ice between them – yet it caused more icy drama.

When Jenkin Edwards expressed his reluctance to live with Olivia, she was swiftly placed on the nomination block. Olivia, however, managed to secure immunity for the week by completing a secret task from Big Brother, convincing the other housemates not to rank her last in the “Most Entertaining” line-up.

The first week of Big Brother 2023 has taken the media by storm, with the show earning its highest ratings since the 2012 premiere on Channel 5. OJ Odudu and Will Best have been giving it their all, on the presenting side of things, bringing a unique duo dynamic.

Stay tuned for more drama, excitement, and unexpected twists as Big Brother continues to air on ITV2 and ITVX, with episodes airing from Sundays to Fridays at 9 pm, followed by “Big Brother Late & Live” at 10 pm also on ITV2 and ITVX.

Viewers can expect a rollercoaster of emotions, unexpected twists, and fierce competition as the housemates vie for the coveted £100,000 prize. Don’t miss a moment of the action as the nation watches, votes, and ultimately crowns the victor of this unforgettable series.
