Indie dance rising star Alex Cecil is back with a new single, “Promises”, and it’s already creating waves in the dance music scene. Released on Exx Underground—the sublabel to Exx Boundless Records—which has been nominated for Beatport’s Best Hype Label of the Year, “Promises” is a melodic, feel-good track that pledges to be a staple on dance floors this summer. This acts as the follow-up to his two-track EP, titled “Jumping From Swings”.

Cecil is a prominent figure in the underground dance scene, regularly performing at major events like Burning Man, Floyd Miami, and House Of Yes in New York. His unique style and impressive DJ skills have earned him a loyal following and significant acclaim, including hitting the Number 1 spot on the Traxsource techno chart with his debut release.
Music has always been a significant part of Cecil’s life. He grew up in a musically rich environment, becoming an accomplished cellist who played at Carnegie Hall at a young age. His nights were immersed in the dynamic energy of New York City’s club scene, guided by his father, who co-owned the iconic early-2000s venue Club OHM, and his cousin is also in the dance music scene, Tucker Halpern, who is a member of the Grammy-nominated, critically acclaimed, electro-pop duo Sofi Tukker—possibly best known for their viral songs “Drinkee” and “Best Friend”, the latter of which featured Nervo, The Knocks, and Alisa Ueno
With his deep-rooted passion for music, Cecil has built a career that is constantly evolving. His busy touring schedule includes upcoming performances on June 22, 2024, at the Midnight Festival in Mexicali, Baja, alongside Rodriguez Jr. and Felix Da Housecat, and on July 7, 2024, at the Eagle Room in Miami, with more dates to be announced.
