Distance Major set out to challenge the conventions of songwriting by crafting a piece that feels familiar and catchy without relying on words. “This song was based on the traditional structure of a pop song,” Distance Major explained. “I really wanted a catchy melody in both the verse and chorus, so how can you do that without lyrics? I tried this one and really enjoyed the final version. Sometimes you need to keep things simple, which is what I did for this track.”
