Los Angeles-based duo MOVIESTARZ are continuing to push pop boundaries with the release of their vibrant new single, “1.M FREQUENCIES”, featuring pop vocalist Cali Rodi. The track marks the final preview of their highly anticipated debut album, “FANTASY > REALITY”, which arrives on November 7, 2025. This acts as the follow-up to their previous single release “RECORDS ON REPEAT”.

Written by Alex Pombar, Jeffrey Laliberte, Paul Laliberte, Shelby Archer, and Tyler Nichols—with Tyler Treats, The Fund, and Alex Pombar credited as producers—“1.M FREQUENCIES” is a glitter-drenched alt-pop-rock track destined to get stuck in your head all day. Its distinctly ’00s-inspired rock rhythms twist around infectious pop melodies and powerhouse vocals from both Cali Rodi and Tyler Nichols. The track truly has it all—maybe even the kitchen sink—but it’s delivered in a smart, structured way. Speaking about the track, Tyler Nichols shared, “‘1.M FREQUENCIES’ is one of the top contenders for my favorite song on the album. We made the demo for this song [on February 13, 2024], and purposely saved this to be the last single before the album drops for a reason. I hope we’re playing this song on stages 20 years from now.”
Cali Rodi, who lends her signature edge to the track, was instantly captivated by its sound. “I’m so excited to be a part of ‘1.M FREQUENCIES’! I was instantly drawn to the song the moment I heard it,” she said. “[What] with the way it combines both pop punk and electronic elements to create a synergy that I personally haven’t really heard before. I grew up listening to artists like blink-182, Avril Lavigne, and 3OH!3, so it was fun to channel my teenage self in these vocals.”
Comprising best friends Tyler Nichols and Alex Pombar, MOVIESTARZ have carved out their own niche within the modern pop landscape, drawing on influences from EDM, hyperpop, and the early 2000s pop-rock era. Their latest single perfectly captures that eclectic energy—a mix of glittery hooks, electronic flair, and nostalgic angst.
“1.M FREQUENCIES” follows MOVIESTARZ’s previous single “RECORDS ON REPEAT”, a glossy pop anthem with a sharp lyrical bite, exploring the irony of idolising artists who might never return the devotion. Reflecting on the project, Tyler Nichols said, “I’ve been chasing music since I was 15. I’ve recorded albums, released songs, hit a million streams on MySpace, and seen plenty of those projects flop. Inspired by countless success stories, I always hoped the bands I admire would notice and the ‘cool’ influencers would share my music. I realized the fantasy is often more exciting than the reality, and that’s what this album is all about. But after two years of pouring ourselves into this album, we’re incredibly proud of this one regardless of the anyone else’s response and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”
Alex Pombar added, “This MOVIESTARZ album is the best and most refreshing batch of songs we have ever done. There’s so many different moods on this album that I think anyone can get into. We got a little bit of every genre on here and it can be treated as an art collection.”
Produced in collaboration with The Fund, the album spans 12 genre-blending tracks and will also receive a limited vinyl release this autumn. To celebrate, MOVIESTARZ will host a live listening party at a local gallery in Los Angeles the weekend of release, featuring exclusive artwork, lyric videos, and an immersive preview of the record.
