Opening with the sound of rain falling over the South Shore waves, recorded during a storm at Indian Wells Beach, “Feels Like Forever” immediately sets a reflective and intimate tone. The track blends Americana influences with subtle British alt-rock hints, crafting a Fleetwood Mac-inspired ballad that is both melodic and heartfelt. Lina Maxine and Dean Aladay’s vocals come together in harmony for the first time on a release, adding layers of warmth and emotional resonance to the song’s central theme of missing a loved one.

Written and produced by the collaborative duo, “Feels Like Forever” captures atmospheric, chill vibes rooted in Americana-folk. Full of soul and emotion, the track leaves a lasting impression, blending progressive elements with heartfelt storytelling. The lyrics explore personal change and struggle following a long separation, touching on themes of distance, time, and the desire for approval from another person. As Dean Aladay explains, “’Feels Like Forever’ is about missing mum,” reflecting the personal and emotional heart of the song.

Dean Aladay handled the overall mixing, with additional mixing by Parker Lyons, while Grammy-nominated engineer Ste Kerry (Sleep Token) mastered the track. Vocals are shared by Lina Maxine and Aladay, with the latter also contributing to background vocals, acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, synthesiser, and hammered dulcimer. Lyons adds guitar and slide guitar, Nick Sferlazza plays bass, and Jake Schott handles drums, resulting in a rich, layered sound.

Lina Maxine began as a solo artist, but since joining forces with Dean, the project has evolved into a collaborative creative partnership. Together, they have built a cohesive sound that balances heartfelt storytelling with rich instrumentation, and they’ve brought the music to life, live with a band, including Nick Sferlazza on bass, Jake Schott on drums, and Parker Lyons on pedal steel. Their performances at New York and Long Island venues, such as Stephen Talkhouse, have helped them cultivate a loyal following while highlighting the duo’s dynamic interplay.

“Feels Like Forever” is the lead single from an upcoming five-song EP, with the next track set for release this spring and the full record arriving this summer. This rising Americana-folk-influenced duo plans to support the EP with both live shows and studio-streamed sessions, while exploring potential opening slots on larger tours.

An acoustic performance of “Feels Like Forever”, recorded for NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest 2026, is available on YouTube, offering a more intimate glimpse into the duo’s collaborative artistry. Drawing inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, Lord Huron, and Kacey Musgraves, the track is a clear statement of the evolving sound of this artist—a project fronted by Lina Maxine, driven by their partnership with Dean Aladay, and brought to life by a full band in performance.

“Feels Like Forever”, by Lina Maxine, is available to download and stream, right now, across all platforms, via DYAD Production House. Expect their next single, titled “Nightingale’s Melody”, to be released in April, with the forthcoming five-track EP set to drop mid-2026.
