As Quantum Leap enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the return of their favourite time-travelling series, new revelations have surfaced that shed further light on the highly anticipated second season. Peter Gadiot and Eliza Taylor, the newly introduced series regulars, are set to bring a fresh dynamic to the show, and the Season 2 trailer offers a tantalising glimpse into what lies ahead.

In the trailer, Dr. Ben Song (played by Raymond Lee) reaffirms his role as a time traveller, leaping into the lives of others to alter the course of history for the better. However, his encounter with the enigmatic Hannah Carson, portrayed by Eliza Taylor, takes an unexpected turn. “Incredible,” she responds to the revelation. Ben, clearly surprised by her acceptance, inquires, “So you’re on board with the time traveler thing?”

Hannah’s readiness to embrace this concept only adds to the intrigue surrounding her character, described as “a complex young woman who may be more than she appears.” Viewers will get their first glimpse of her in the third episode of the season.

The trailer also teases a range of exciting leaps that await fans in the 2nd season, including journeys to Egypt in 1961, the Los Angeles Riots in 1992 Koreatown, a UFO investigation in 1949 New Mexico, and the witch trials in 1692 Massachusetts.

Quantum Leap’s return is slated for Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at 8/7c on NBC, with streaming availability on Peacock the following day. Joining Peter Gadiot and Eliza Taylor in the cast are familiar faces, including Caitlin Bassett as Addison Augustine, Ernie Hudson as Herbert “Magic” Williams, Mason Alexander Park as Ian Wright, and Nanrisa Lee as Jenn Chu.

Tom Westfall, played by Peter Gadiot, is a US Army Officer with a rich history in special forces and Army Intelligence. He is described as a “thoughtful, centered, a spiritual kind of warrior who both men and women admire, but whose humility keeps him from ever being arrogant.” Westfall is set to play a pivotal role in overseeing the project at the heart of the series. and he is deeply entrenched in Army Intelligence so he promises to bring an intriguing layer of complexity to the storyline.

Gadiot is known for his compelling performances in various TV shows, including Queen of the South, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, and Yellowjackets. Gadiot, fresh from a recurring role in Netflix’s One Piece, is set to keep audiences on the edge of their seats with his portrayal of Westfall. While his specific contributions to this season remain shrouded in mystery, his addition is bound to elevate the show’s intensity.

As for Taylor, she is renowned for her role as Clarke Griffin in The CW’s The 100. Taylor’s return to the small screen in a series regular role since The 100 has generated immense excitement among fans. As the enigmatic Hannah Carson, her presence is expected to introduce a captivating twist to the plot. Whether she aligns with the team or poses a challenge to them remains a compelling question.

Accompanying this exciting casting news is the release of this season’s poster, as well, which hints at an extraterrestrial element in the upcoming storyline, featuring an alien spaceship. The team’s encounters with the unknown have been a hallmark of the series, and this season appears set to push the boundaries even further.
